| Fettling the 1100 for a trip to the Moto GP this weekend at Phillip Island. Can't wait. Will probably over-service the beast out of excitement to get on down there. | |

| Looked at the brand new tyres on Black Betty, got in the car and drove to work. Clutch hand not healed enough yet - probably another week or so. DAMN! Good riding weather these days. | |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Lordy. Is that really yours, Mark? What "else" are you having done to it? Bill P.S. In Atlanta on eldercare "duty roster" we share with my brother. Just had a "McCloskey Burger" with fries (of course) and two (be careful, Bill)(very fine) local IPA's at Manuel's Tavern, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] a favorite local haunt when we lived here '94-'12. On way over, saw a C14, then see what I parked alongside. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Yep. It’s mine. New steering head bearings, linkages and swing arm bearings re-greased, frame powder coated black (or pink), 1400 engine. Not much, really. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! .

| Yup, ongoing project Bill. I, well Michael actually did the build to learn the 8V, have built a single spark 1400 motor as an experiment. It's now complete and we're slotting it into Mark's bike as a test bed. Unlike certain other people who promise a lot, deliver nothing and make absurd claims about their builds that never actually happen, (Partly because they ignore the laws of physics! ) we've actually done it and are making no claims at all. We don't even know if it'll work! We certainly aren't expecting much, if any, more peak HP but we are expecting a healthy boost in torque, especially in the bottom end and midrange. The main reason we did it is to satisfy our curiosity. Neither Mark or I or Michael are unsatisfied with our 1200's. Far from it! We think that a correctly tuned and set up 1200 is a beautiful thing. But there is always a big desire among some for a 'Bigger' engine and there are usually people who will offer something along these lines at absurd cost and accompanied by a whole load of verbal diarrhoea about 140hp and 200mph etc. I just want to see what can be achieved and how. If it is worthwhile I'll offer to build them for other people but I won't be selling it with a load of 'Horse Puckey' and will be being completely honest about whether I believe it's worth it or not! My guess at this point is that it may well be that this motor is more suited to a Stelvio than a GRiSO in which case we'll put Mark's motive unit back in his bike and I'll slot the 1400 into the Turdio for further experimentation. | Last ride of the season. Beautiful fall weather. Got a nice piece of blueberry pie at the Frog Peak Cafe, then took GRiSO via the scenic route back to her stable. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| As long as Marks 1200 is just sitting around, might as well stuff it in a Stornello. | |

Rode mine in Georgia today in the company of Wayne Orwig, a U.S. Guzzi Guru of the first rank, and a rider who is so smooth he is wheeled liquid. I hate him. Seriously, he was on his 100K+ miles EV and I on my Stornello. Could have used the 1200 over the 750 just to keep up. Nah; couldn't have caught him on a 'Busa. Well, mebbe on the straights. It was a grand day, with temps chilly at the start, then warming to perfect. Bright, sunny, particulates almost nil, so a stupendous day to be out on back roads, especially as those were near traffic-free. But, back to the teasing point about a 1200 in a Stornello. Even if doable, way overkill. OK, mebbe I just mean it would kill me. Think NIKE: Just Do It. Bill

| A beautiful afternoon on the GRiSO! Perfect fall weather riding. I visited a parcel of land in Plainfield that I am representing, for a client. (ostensible work, my sign is still in place) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]It is on a lovely dirt road that is as close to off-roading as I want to do on the GRiSO in street shoes. I made my way around the Berkshire Hills, stopping for a beer at the Ashfield Lake House before heading home. | |

| Very pretty Mr. Ross. Some of the leaves have turned here in the Bear Mt. area of NY. I took the GRiSO out for a spin and stopped off for a cannoli to fortify the inner man. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Got the grisso back from Phillip Island today. Great couple of days apart from a few showers here and there. The "Mandello Yellow" was well behaved and was a rell looker amongst the other rabble at the Park Ferme | |
