| Pete had given me some C-Bow racks that came of a wreck. These were to replace the ones I lost when my V7-II went down. The right hand side rack was fine and I've been using it, but the left hand side main plate was bent & cracked. So I asked one of the young Fitters at work if he could do something with it. I haven't got a 'before' picture - trust me, it was bad - but here's the 'after' picture (I just hit it with some engine paint & gave it a bake). [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The holding bars were rather bent too. First I bent them simply to align with the mounting points. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Hmm, going to have to straighten them out a little bit. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Perfectumundo! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then I just had to go for a ride of course | |

| Shit! Sorry Craig! I forgot I've got to have a look at your bike to see if it is intact drinking fuel excessively! Gimme a call.

| Haven't ridden much this summer on account of an extremely cold June, temps have steadily stayed under 14 centigrade and most of the time under 10.
Today, after long last I did the first maintence check, 5000 km's after rollerization. Valve clearances spot on, TB balance ditto and here you have one happy rider. There's still the odd coarse running, but after such incident I've not filled up from the station whose petrol I had in the tank. There's a big difference in the quality between individual stations in Finland.

| Much the same temperatures here, just a handful of days warmer. Â 14 C was warm enough to get out for a 100 mile or so ride around some of Ayrshires twisty country roads this eve. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| I got the spacer (fits to the engine with the sump under it) on with little drama. It now sports a new thicker green gasket, that will last longer than the black one. Cleaned the sump and other things. Also accidentally poked a hole in a gallon of Simple Green cleaner, there is an extra chean area of my garage floor now.
Tomorrow will fill up the oil filter and spin it on, then bolt up the sump, fill it up and start it up.

| Put the Stelvio shock onto GRiSO, raises the seat height by exactly 1 inch (25mm) with the preload in the middle, sitting on it feels firmer, going for a ride :-) | |

| Changed the fluids on the new to me 1100. It was home serviced recently by the previous owner. However, for piece of mind it was done. Found the clutch fluid quite smoky with crystals on the rubber screen. Clearly not done in a while. Also the clutch was releasing at the very end of the engagement. A good clean through seems to have rectified this somewhat. The engaged clutch is noisier/more rattly than my previous 850-just wondering if that is normal.
Will do the linkage this week.

| Well...raising the handlebar risers 10mm's helped a lot with the arthritic wrists (mentioned a couple weeks ago in this thread), I found that I needed to rotate the handle bar slightly to give a bit more relief. So, today I rotated the bar 3.25mm toward me which allows my hand/wrist position to align better with the grips. I'm not sure what that translate's to at the bar ends, but it sure feels better at this point. | |

| Waiting on my Hyperpro spring! Until it comes in the GRiSO is pulling commuter duty; I am memorizing the fell of the stock rear shock so when the new one is installed, and the swing arm bearings greased, I have a point of reference - also measured the sag etc. | |
