| Setting up to run Guzzidiag, but I get a flag from my Virus software that IAW5xReader_V067 I loaded off of the GuzziDiag page has a Trojan virus! V22 from the guzzidiag Howto thread is ok.
Anyone experience this????

| V0.67 is for the 15x ECU. it is not compatible with the GRiSO. The latest version of Reader for the 5AM is 0.24. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| You can send an email to the developer at guzzidiag at gmail dot com to alert him. Maybe provide details of what the virus scanner reported. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| It is probably at signature that "looks" like a virus - but then again it might be a genuine one that slipped through. Do as Beetle says... | |

Yup, I got the same 'flag' from Norton Anti-virus. I don't think there is a problem with IawWriter - it just 'looks and acts' like a virus ie probably performs some low-level read or write functions. I had to turn-off Norton SmartFirewall to get it to run.....

| Actually, now that I think about it, I've had to tell my AV to 'ignore' reader and writer. As you say, it's probably flagged because it wants to access the hardware. Nevertheless, it may well be prudent to contact Bernd regardless. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Over many years, Norton Anti-Virus has copped a fair bit of flack for what it does to your system - from running at 80% CPU time, to reporting perfectly good applications suspect. Where I work (and in a lot of large organisations) NAV is definitely off limits - lets in more than it blocks - so the gurus tell me.
McAfee seems to be solid enough as does AVG. I have tried others (to wit ClamAV/ClamWin) to find poor reporting or protection or both.
Just saying! Maybe nothing has changed much at Norton?

| I'm running win-doze 10, and am having some grief with getting connected to the rosso. never had too many issues with the 09 GRiSO connecting, I may have upgraded to W 10 since I last hooked up ? Hardware seems fine, Laptop says It can't find the Device Driver Even when i specify Exactly where it is. I've tried deleting the FTDI drivers I had copies of and downloaded current and past versions with no success. Even tried copying the Driver to a memory stick with no joy. Running a virus scan on laptop now...... My 10 minute map change and half day ride has turned to poo........ at least the fridge still has cold beer in it | |

| Make sure you're using this driver: LINKY POO
Also, since Windoze blows, try running as administrator. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! .

| Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, if you have a knock-off FTDI chip, updating the drivers through Windoze update will 'soft' kill the chip.
Don't update via Winbloze. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! .

| Thanks Beetle. I did read about that, A bit too late though, but all is good, I couldn't get windows to recognise the driver anyway. It may be a coincidence but I downloaded a driver fix program ( Driver Talent ) just before I received your reply. The driver in the Link was one that I had tried, But I'm sure yours had some Magic attached because it all worked famously straight afterwards It's not too late for a ride yet , but I might fall off on the first corner, ahhh , next weekend then , Thanks again for your help | |
