Bike Caught a Virus Empty
PostSubject: Bike Caught a Virus   Bike Caught a Virus Icon_minitime1Mon Mar 07, 2016 4:06 pm

Well after the spirited ride via Bungendore on Sunday, my bike is now idling high - around 1800 rpm. What gives? Haven't touched it.

Maybe picked up a bit of grunge in the linkages - note to self, have a look and see if there is grunge in the linkages.

Its obvious Tony. Clearly Pete messed with the sacred screw while you were there. Some people just can't help themselves.

No Conor, happened on Monday for some reason - can't really blame Pete, though full throttle rotation was noted several times while he disappeared into the distance. Yesterday, I "reefed" on the linkages from the LH side to see if that would change anything. It did - now it was trying to idle at 500 rpm. Reefed it back the other way and all is good again.

I suspect something with the linkages and/or the stepper motor are not quite healthy - maybe a hose is resting on the linkage rod. Need to pull the tank, airbox and associated bits and bobs to get at it. Weekend job No 3754!

Curiouser and curiouser.

All OK today on ride to work. Must have been the spirited ride home on Tuesday night from the MGOA club meeting. As I no longer have a problem, I'll stop looking for one. What's that about an ostrich I hear you say?

about 3 months Pete. Might still be the culprit, though, a big of grunge on the outside. I am also having trouble with gearshifts - Glenn and I went through some shitty bits (roadworks) on Sunday - so a good clean up on the outside might be called for.
