Ah, yes. I went to Alice's once, summer of 2005 at the end our US 50 Coast to Coast trip. On a week day, it was busy.
And the GRiSO does draw a crowd of olde phartes. On the Cherohalla Skyway one time, I had some BMW/Ducati riders do a u-turn to come into an overlook to see mine. One of them commented, "I heard there was a GRiSO up here."
I'm up on the Cherohala frequently, when it's not covered in snow like it has been lately.
I've never had anyone turn around to see mine, but I don't wait around much.

I'm up on the Cherohala as often as I can. Last year, I take a break at an over-view area, lo and behold this gentleman on identical bike as mine...[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I only meant to drain off maybe 200mL of engine oil; the sump bolt loosened while I’m leaning on the wrench - and GRiSO smacks me in the head for not doing things properly the first time. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

WOW, did it fall on you? I had one fall on me while I was under it on sidestand. I was snugging something up and over it came, tipping to the right where I was laying under bike. I kept it from hitting shop floor but couldn't get it off me. Good thing I wasn't alone at work. SHIT HAPPENS

Ouch. That must still hurt some days. Maybe it’s something about red GRiSO’s?

That x-ray will bring a tear to your eye pun intended lol. Back in the 70s when fax machines became all the rage that showed up on my dads machine with a paragraph " Dear employer please excuse me from work today. Please refer to my x-ray" It always is good for a laugh. I will walk into someplace limping and groaning and when someone asks I show the x-ray it usually takes awhile to see the broken chicken bone and hex nuts

On Wednesday I took the day off to do some Christmas shopping, took the bike and road a few hundred km to buy some Jam. Hahahaha, on the way home the bike was running a little weird at times, like starving fuel, or air. Tonight I thought I would check the TPS, and throttle body etc. And found the air screw on the right side wound out flush with the bottom of the hole. Weird. Seems to be running ok now without taking it for a ride. I wonder if the screw can fall right out? I attempt to unscrew any further, only gave it a thought after everything was reset. Be a bugger to loose it on a ride.

Was a tad warm today at 30C, but I donned the gear and went out for a loop of the ACT border towns. Up Nanima Rd to Murrumbateman, out to Gundaroo & Bungendore, down Pete Roper's test track to Hoskinstown, up to Captain's Flat, and back to Queenbeyan where I filled up after 180km.
As I was leaving the servo, a Mazda Red GRiSO sidled up to the intersection. Fuck me if it wasn't Mr Roper himself, also out enjoying the good vibes of the GRiSO on a summer's day.
No photos sorry, Pete no longer allows happy snaps of himself out riding in his budgie smugglers...

I guess the lawns aren't getting mowed either then. With all the heat & rain you've had the grass must be 6ft high

Well, I ran into Craig in Queanbeyan after we'd both been out for a ride. And this morning I met another bloke, whose name I've forgotten, who is apparently a member here on his 2016 at the Bungendore servo. He had a water problem in his tank. Hope he got home.

I went to Cadre Cycle for a visit, and to have my wheels with fresh tires balanced. I'll admit to driving my pick-up with the wheels in the back seat, as the high temp was 19*f (-8c).
While at Cadre, I gave the New Stelvio a look. They have three on the floor. I must admit, it's one of the few adventure bikes that actually looks good, to my eye. I also had the chance to chat with an old friend who got one of the first Mandelo's, a standard version, in red. He generally likes the bike, except for the transmission. He has about 3k miles on it so far.

What's the problem with the transmission ?
The only "problem" I have sometimes is with the quickshifter, but that's not really a transmission problem

Does the "standard" Mandelo have the quick shifter? He just said the tranny shifts horribly. He's not a newbie either.

No, the 'Poverty Pack' hasn't got any of the fruit. No electronic suspension, quick shifter, TPM etc. I can't see why anyone would buy the stocker as the cost of adding that stuff would far exceed the original cost difference and you'd be at the mercy of untrained 'Dealer' techs if you did.
I can't ven begin to think about paying $32,000AU for a depreciating asset that is essentially a toy though so my views probably hold no credence.
