Certainly if I bought one the first thing I'd be doing is scanning through the owners handbook trying to find out how to turn the bloody things off! Mind you silly shit like adjustable windshields seems to keep working OK so who knows? Just seems that these sorts of things just add weight and complexity, at least to me.
I tend to think that what I want from a motorbike and what other people want from a motorbike are very different. Who'da thunk it?!
On that note we had a whole bunch of Ducatista clogging up the main street yesterday morning. All of them on immaculately turned out 'Sport' models, (No idea what they're all called nowadays.) and wearing brand new, unmarked and bug-free, creaking leathers. Most of them on Canberra number plates so that was their 'Weekend ride' on their 150+HP rocketships. 40Km for a cup of coffee down an uninspiring and heavily policed bit of highway at 100kph on a bike that cost you $30,000 or more! Why would you fucking bother!? And they have the nerve to sneer at blokes on shitty old Cali 1100's with 300,000 on the clock!
I fart, wetly, in their general direction.

My local shop, Throttle Vintage Bikes in Columbus just unpacked the prepaid bikes that go straight to clients. I got a chance to chat with Dylan, the owner & the mechanic for 1/2 an hour & look the bike over.
What initially impressed me years ago, about the GRiSO, was the design, how details were executed, the components used, and again I was grinning over what a good looking bike it is.
It’ll be a while before they have a demo bike, or for that matter a showroom model. Apparently Piaggio wanted first to ship bikes to paying customers.

I picked up my V100S yesterday in Knoxville TN. Loaded it into the van, and drove home to NC. Still in the low 30s here this morning, but I'll be going out later once it warms up a bit.

I’m interested to read your comparison to GRiSO

After 150 miles today, I can say it's more refined than the GRiSO, and more comfortable as well (for me). Seat height is taller, bars are taller, and with less of a stretch to reach them, with less knee bend. But make no mistake, it's still a Guzzi ! The feel of the engine reminds me of my GRiSO, with that raw feeling, and a similar vibration. Quickshifter works very well, once above 2nd gear. It just seems too abrupt for 1st to 2nd, so i used the clutch for that. The transmission still prefers a more deliberate action in that case, again like my GRiSO (especially compared to some bikes). Obviously it has a lot of newer technology than the barebones GRiSO that some people claim to be against, but it still felt closest to my GRiSO compared to any other bike I have.

Nice. I hope it's a great success for them.
I'm looking forward to riding one but I won't be buying one any time soon. We took a big hit on our superannuation over the last couple of years, about $160K just vanished. No new bikes, or anything else expensive, in the near future!
Also I resent the fact that Piaggio are trying to make their products inaccessible to anyone but dealerships for maintenance. I'm sure Texa will come up with something but I'm not willing to drop $2K on another diagnostic system that may not be supported in five years. I can't get a PADS subscription, despite paying for the tool. Fuck them. And the horse they rode in on. The idea that I'd take any bike of mine to be 'Serviced' by the sort of clowns who can't tune a W5AM bike is laughable as well! I wonder what they'll find to fuck up on the V100?

Holy shit ... this was posted on that V100 Facebook Group's page. All this is necessary to mount heated grips.

Fairly typical, I added the factory heated grips on a Kawasaki Z900RS, and it was only slightly less since it's a true naked bike. The heated grips are standard on the S version.

The new V100 looks pretty damn good to me. I'd love to ride one, but the price and maintenance requirements as mentioned by others puts it in the "maybe later" category I still love my GRiSO and there are many more miles left in it before I consider a replacement

I think the paint schemes on the S models make the bike look much better (otherwise the tank-fairing combination) looks too big.
I am still satisfied with my GRiSO. I think I would prefer a BMW R9T over the V100, why?
- I do not like Piaggio. Why?: If I spent soo much money on a new bike I expect first class service. - A V-Twin like the Guzzi engine + water cooling => BMW does it better with the R9T - I do not like the looks of the headers (position) - I am an analog guy. Those TFTs .... argh - Quality: I expect that such a new bike will have its issues and so far MG/Aprilia/Piaggio fucked it up all the time.

Yes, similar. Except for the color, the Vtwin engine vs the inline 4, shaft drive, and the MG doesn't have the 'possum scraper tail.

Nice bike, but GRiSO for me, - definately! Gives me all I want from a bike, including challenges and the possibility to personalize.

I really want to like it, but somehow the design just doesn't excite me. I stick to my GRiSO for a while longer.
