Well, call me odd, weird or wacko, but the more I see of it in the green & silver the more I like the looks of it. Yes it's a little bit of Honda CX500 with a little bit of Suzuki VX800 with some trademark Guzzi hints thrown in. (Funny, I've had all of those so maybe that explains it.) Thankfully it doesn't have that insect styling that is so popular with other brands but that I despise.
Engine wise, well everyone has said since the end of the big blocks that they had to come up with something new. They also did what everyone said that they had to do - liquid cooling & 4-valve OHC. And it sounds good to me in the 2nd video Beetle posted.
Yeah they've left some things out, and then added in some new stuff (that may or may not be gimmicky), but isn't that always going to be the case with any new bike model?
Is it a GRiSO. No. Will it replace my GRiSO. No. Would I like to have a ride on it. Fuck yeah!
More than anything it's the nose fairing that kills it for me. It's vaguely reminiscent of the front of the 8V Norge but the stupid LED strip and general 'Wedgieness' of it make it uggers beyond belief.

I don't hate it. I prefer the red one. It's vaguely reminiscent of the Yamaha TDM. Tedium may well be appropriate. It's no different to a lot of Apriliyamaducasukiha's.

Once we learn more about it it'll be interesting. How many throttle bodies? How is valve lash adjusted? Exactly where is the gearbox? We know it's a wet clutch at the back of the engine so is the gearbox underslung? Why no reactive drive? So many questions.

Looking at it from a (not) prospective buyer, it doesn't look too bad. However that exhaust
Steak pointed out it is humpy like a Breva - I resemble that remark, well my Sport does. Got back from a 545 km trip today in less than 7 hours and I like my humpy tank - somewhere to rest my ever-expanding gut!

Radiator. Hmmmmm. Well it had to happen for Euro5 or whatever iteration it is now. I’m still loving my GRiSO so I’m in no hurry. Now if I could only find a tail rack……

Appears the shock is in line with the reactive forces where a CARC beam could have been, so I’m betting the shock is doing double duty as suspension and anti-torque.

I think I like it (somewhat). I would like to see it in person and will try to test-ride it next year. Let's hope it will be a big seller for MG. Perhaps that is why the styling is somewhat bland or even boring: to attract more potential buyers, unlike what happened with the GRiSO which only attracted a few 'eccentric' riders.
It seems that the Green/Silver version is the upscale option and the red one is a base version. That radiator is ugly as hell (like all radiators) but not so much 'in your face' like e.g. on the Kawa Z900RS. I really don't like the screens that all manufacturers use as dash nowadays but apparently that is unavoidable on modern bikes. And I assume that the headers (which are now 'siders') will function as crash bars... 110-120 hp is more than enough if they managed to keep the weight down.
Let's see how much it costs and how it competes with the cheaper Yamahas and potentially higher quality BMWs... Of course it is no GRiSO, and I will not be in a hurry to trade my good old GRiSO for a Mandello (although I think that name is a brilliant move!!).

I don’t dis agree, not totally a BARF reaction. I view it as a step forward, rather than stagnating. Sadly the frontal view does remind me of the ill-fated Morbidelli 850 V8 120hp would be a starting point, but it’s the weight that kills the GRiSO, so I’d suggest a kerb weight nearer 200kg as a starting point.
I’d be more interested in seeing what Ghezzi-Brian could do with it, or by adding the new powerplant to their gorgeous Dr John Tribute.
Likewise the recently shown (on here) Simon Thackeray’s MGST-01, based on Ghezzi-Brian’s Monza Sport. Which I’d give my left leg for… I think they’d want arm & leg
