Been waiting since Christmas to get some new Michelin hoops, but still not delivered to my supplier.
Went for a 350k ride New Years day, thinking "Yep, I'll get one more ride out of those". Today I was told, if you ever have that thought, DON"T! As it oft times proves near fatal. My old Michy's got me home, but were starting to feel pretty ordinary in the last 20k of corners. I have picked up many a customer with cords and canvas showing or a total blowout, who have thought the same.
Well today I pulled the pin and booked in for a new set of Bridgestone S22's, fitted tomorrow.
I generally favour products I know well, as it takes me time to develop the trust and confidence in things like tyres and brakes. Haven't ridden Bridgestones since the BT45's on my Cali, about 13 years ago. Instead of being a woose, I should just tighten the rectal sphincter, twist & go, (after a warm up and a 5 km scrub in). Tyre technology has improved over the last 2 decades.

Picked up my wheels with Michelin Road 5's afitted, today. Will get them on Black Betty on the morrow. I like you Wayne, though I had at least one more ride in the old ones, but no - when I realised how rooted they were, I wussed around like a lame old codger, till I got home, hoping Mr Plod didn't see fit to look.

I hear the comments about how boring the Plains are often. But, as a retired farmer, I enjoy seeing the differences of how they do things out there.
Northern KY, eastern Ohio, and southern Indiana all are good riding. It doesn't compare to though, to where you are.
Mutton..... as in Owensboro style bbq? It's on my culinary to-do list.

Whats the light, and straight up fit?
It's a Jeep light. Plugs straight in, but I had to add a wire for the halo lights to work as parking lights. Also had to make my own fittings, as I don't use a bucket.
84 degrees (F) Sunday, so out for a ride. Not as sharp as beetle's orange monster, but I still love it !

With total disregard for the law, brazenly disregarding Double D's, I took GRiSO out on the open road. With stupidly imagined impunity, laughing gleefully, I sped about at 100km/h.

I got new shoos, just like Tony says, "Steers so much sweeter now". So green tyres and wet roads to start with, lottsa damp patches on the way up the first mountain. Did Nebo, Glorious and Mt Mee, u-turn and repeat.
Two rides in 27 days, I think I remember how to do it now.
Up here we have a sort of permanent "double demerit" system. If you have a repeat offense within a 12 month period, they dock you double the points. 1. Less than 13km/h over = 1 point. (2nd offense within 12 months is 2 points) 2. 13km/h to 20km/h over = 3 points. (2nd offense within 12 months is 6 points)
Currently, due to past misdemeanors it is safer for me to do 21-39km/h over the limit (the fun zone) and I only get 4 demerit points. (above that speed you win a free pair of sneakers)
So with scant regard for the law like Beetle, I flogged it to 99km/h. Then I hit the time warp button on the flux capacitor and I was instantly transported to another place and time. The number 131 magically appeared on my horizon-approacheth meter, and I was centered!

Yesterday I rode the green horror around my local test track and found myself constantly exceeding the speed limit entirely unintentionally. It was dangerous for my licence and deeply irritating.
Today Jude and I went out on Fat GRiSO with our friend and novice ride Martin on his GS 500 and Peter Hender on his DR ‘Zook.
Things learnt.
Don’t try to keep up with a bloke who can ride when you are two up on a barge. Do not try to keep up with a barge if you’re on a manky old GS and have never ridden on dirt before!
The Corbin seat on Fat GRiSO sucks for a passenger.
It’s possible to ride Fat GRiSO really slowly so learner can keep up!
GS 500’s suck on dirt! (Tee Hee!)

Dirt cred given! Fair pissing down here - has been for days, will be for days. NZ gets it next, hopefully some moisture left in it.

It's finally pissing down here after a couple of days of attempted drizzle. Still rode to work - the bike needed a bath after all these months of dust storms & smoke

Is that an Adaptiv TPX radar detector I can see clamped to your RH handlebar and peeping above the screen? I thought Mr Plod in Oz disallows these devices. There's a ticket waiting, unless I'm wrong (again!).
