| Agreed, power increase was small, if at all. But the surging, bucking, hesitation and popping on trailing throttle were all greatly reduced. | |

| There shouldn't be, and there is no need for any of that! There's something wrong with the bike if it's behaving that way! What year model and what mods have you made? | |

| 2016 with a Agostini oval can, All else is stock. I may have overstated the bucking and snorting. But it has always had a tendency to hesitate when rolling on the throttle in mid range (2500-4000 rpm). It would not respond to light throttle inputs, then wake up and off we'd go. That is much improved. It also has always popped a bit on deceleration. That also seems better. | |

| Rick, Do you have a Beetle Map for that new pipe? You shouldn’t have any popping or anything else bad if you do. My stock pipe always popped on deceleration. I didn’t know if could be fixed until I asked Beetle. It all went away with the new map and performance in all other areas was incredibly better too. | |

| Apart from anything else it sounds like it needs a proper tune-up but yes, once tuned correctly a map from Mark will transform it. A map alone though is not a 'Magic Bullet', if the machine isn't tuned correctly and a better map is installed it will just be a poorly tuned bike with a better map and will still run like a three legged donkey with a spear up it's chuff!

| Tune up is due when we get home. I'm guessing a tune-up means valve adjustment, spark plugs, and throttle body sync. Having spent 50 years owning/tinkering on various bikes, including Honda CBXs, this shouldn't be difficult.
The bike is running the stock map.

| You’ll need to download Guzzidiag and get the necessary cables to recalibrate the TPS. Read up on how to go about balancing the throttle bodies and on no account try to alter the idle speed by messing with the throttle stop screw.
Valves should be set at 4 thou inlet and 6 exhaust.

| Thanks for the offer, but we're going to Hutchinson,KS for a week, then run US 50 or I-70 home. Iowa is a bit out of the way. Another member here, CBXTC, is an old friend from another motorcycle life. He's graciously offered to lend a hand too. Another excuse to have a beer and a cigar..... | |

| Did the Lancashire Distinguished Gentleman's ride yesterday - it was postponed couple weeks ago due to forecast bad weather....similar weather yesterday but actual ride was OKish; just got soaked getting there and back 1 hour each way & reminded 85 mph + open face helmet + nominal weather gear = pain, no matter how distinguished a Gentleman you dress as.... Mainly Triumphs in the 100 or so bikes & I was only Guzzi in the posse....picture shows final stop next to Blackpool Tower on the seafront [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]& links for couple videos Early arrivals Ride | |

| unfortunately not on my bike, but while on a tour of a Canary Island - Tenerife - being stranded here for a bit - when I say stranded, we are waiting for parts... first the engineers lost the starboard generator... I mean, its in a big white box in the corner of the engine room... I guess if you don't actually spend much time in there, you could forget what is what... but then they lost the port main engine.... now thats a huge great silver thing almost in the middle of the floor... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]anyway, as we are here, we went out for a jolly in a van. This is a mountainous volcano that has been populated. they have built very nice twisty roads. There were a lot, repeat lot of motorcycles. I was quite jealous. sadly didn't see any MGs however. Pity, it would be great riding here. Too many Repsol honda thingys... But this is what a safety barriers looks like here... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]clever use of natural resources. much much nicer than our steel wire cheese slicer exclusion fences. | |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Excellent. It scrubbed up OK. Did you pay Bill? I received nuffink so far. No urgency but I wondered if it might of gone AWOL. Pete

| Got a shock today when I went to the shed; [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]On Friday when I was riding it was 75 F & then had to put the bike away hot as I was going out. The last two nights have been cold around 38 F. I guess the tank vent got pinched. Opened the fuel cap & 30 mins later it had regained it's usual shape. Still the paints a bit crinkled up in places. Only a couple times before have I heard a sucking noise as I open the fuel tank to refuel. Lucky. | |

| The Stelvio got evicted today, so I got to ride the GRiSO for the first time since last August.
Sweet suffering blue-eyed Batman! GRiSO! Tiny, raucous, hard-riding, visceral, soul-stirring, angry!
Stelvio: Big plush 100 mph lounge chair. GRiSO: Angry
I fell in love all over again.

| There was no need to neglect the Orange horror!
Anyway? Aren't you gilding the Lilly? You took it to the Ragged Fringe!
Mind you I'm wondering if I'll fall in love with it again. As I said Townsville Peter and I are planning on doing a lap of Oz soon but whether I keep it or move it on after that is purely a matter of conjecture at this point. As you say it's a lounge chair that does light dirt! Infinitely better in my book than any Cali 14.

Geez, I dunno. I never thought I was so pliant to morph so easily into lounge chair mode. Seriously, I was somewhat tremulous the first few minutes riding the GRiSO.
WTF?
