went for a quick spin this arvo. The last time I was here was about 5 years ago ......... with the "unusual suspects". It was recently very badly impacted by the bushfires but Mother Nature (the only real God) is healing the wounds. Also fitted and tried some el-cheapo Chinese hand guards that I had lying around. They sorta look OK but I suspect nothing is gonna be better to reduce hypothermia than heated grips which actually warm your blood as it circulates.

Replaced my old OEM seat cover today by an inexpensive but decent MotOK cover. Looks much better IMO, and rides great: a bit less slippery. I also found out that upholstery is an art, and not to be tried by nitwits like myself. Next time I will spend the extra $50 and ask a professional to put it on.

Looks good to me! I have the same seat cover on mine. Luckily I have a friend who owns an upholstery shop. He did it for me in exchange for a little welding job.

GRiSO screen fitted............ I cant say if its any betterer or worserer than the Dart its replacing 'cause its been raining now forever and I am more than too lazy to clean my bike again this week. Gotta say though, nothing bad to report about the Dart, I just wanted the GRiSO screen.

If I may be so bold to share my not so humble opinion, the factory GRiSO screen is superior to any Dart.

well thats great to know Mark, and probably why they get snapped up as soon they rarely appear. BTW, thought of you the other day when I was trapped inside an MRI Scanner. While it was doing its thing, I also thought it sounded much like a Billy Eilish track.

That sounds a bit kinky. There must be better things to think of rather than Beetle when being buzzed by an MRI.

Thanks for sharing guys, the trips must have been fabulous! I'm heading 500km up to Brisbane to spend time with my son and ride with him - he has a GSRX1000. No interesting bits of road until I cross the border. All secondary cross-border roads are closed due to Coronavirus impacts.

Ha Ha. True enough, although, he is still a very attractive man. I was actually recalling one or two of his posts in the Combustion Chamber "Yes, I've got the shits"..........

Yes comma but.
Perhaps it was only mine -- or my unenviable wrenching skills -- but the mounts for mine were not specced for NASA flight operations.
Over time, the stressed frame fasteners caused the headlight bucket (yes, a POS in its own right ) to fracture at the attachment points.
Ordered a new bucket ... and Dart. The latter fits the former like -- Bill pauses to find an analogy worthy of Pete Roper; he fails, but think of a silky set-up.
Yes, if the OEM had fit, I'd prefer it. Didn't for me. Think I sent it to Pete who no doubt made it work without a drop of sweat or single curse word. OK, mebbe the former, but no chance of the latter.

Well I don't have a GRiSO but I did take the 1200 Sport (Red one as we all know red ones are faster) for a quick strap yesterday morning to Fernvale and back was good to clear the head and get in touch with ones soul as to why we ride Guzzi's.

Well for the first time in a few weeks I took the Green Machine out for a decent flog. I've been riding the Mana a lot, partly because of novelty value after getting it back on the road after my Stelvio hiatus but also because it offers better weather protection and it's been pretty windy and miserable since we came out of lockdown.
Getting back on the GRiSO simply reminded me what a great motorbike it is. It was a crisp 12*C and despite not being started for a month it fired right up. Blew up the tyres and went for a spirited two hour romp around the Canberra region. Crystal clear skies and bright sunlight.
You wouldn't be dead for quids!
