- Left the GRiSO in the garage today, but Esther and Jellybean and I rode over to the Sumerian Brewing Company in Woodinville, WA in the sidecar rig to check out Ducati Day, sponsored by the NW Ducati Owners' Club. Truth be told, it was a bit underwhelming, but I did sample a nice English style Nitro Pale Ale and there were a lot of pretty sweet red Ducks on display along with a handful of Ferraris and Lamborghinis and to my way of thinking, the best of show; this sweet 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulia (see below). (A good year, by the way, 1959 - check my bio...) Only one other Guzzi in the parking lot, a Breva 1100. Mostly Ducatis, a Triumph, and even a couple of Hardleys (come to see what all the fuss was about, I reckon). Lots of posing and lots of prosperity on display - it seems there are plenty of folks doing very well in our region despite what we read in the papers. Not a lot of "trickle-down", but those who are doing well sure seem to like letting everyone else "envy" them. Am I jaded? Not at all, in fact, I'm really glad we went. There was a lot of eye candy to satisfy my sweet eye teeth!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Looks like it was fun, Pete! A few years ago, on July 4, I rode down to Des Moines Marina for an Italian car-bike show. Lots of interesting stuff! It looks like the show has enlarged a bit, so this year it's at Seattle Center in September... Just saw this post. Lordy. Yes, cable ties are that. Even Kathi has given up a lifetime on relying on duct tape to embrace them. The largest sizes have some fascinating uses, too. Bill

| I'm going on about a 2000+ mile 5 day trip next week so I bought a bunch of stuff from eBay... Oil and filter, some Ram mounts and such. One thing that came in today was a dual USB outlet so I decided to mount it. After some finagling I cut up a scrap piece of sheet metal and mounted it via the headlight bolt. Painted it matte black and coated the backside of the unit with liquid electrical goo. Not ideal, but hooked it up directly to the battery. It won't draw much, so I guess I'm okay with that for now. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] That is so clever it's annoying. Seriously, impressive work. BTW, one set of my kids and grands just moved to Edmonds. Will visit them now and then (and Kathi, as a mom/grandmom, will be piling up some serious FF miles ). Look forward to meeting some of you PNW Grisobuffs sometime. Bill | |

| Thanks for the props! It was seriously easy to do.
I'll commonly take random pieces from old electronics I find at garage sales or goodwill. I like it cause they'll have good pre-bends, structural supports or cooling holes.
I mad this bracket a little bigger as I may add other plug type items or cord holders to it.
Anytime you're in Edmonds, drop me a line.

| Bugga. Hope ya get that sorted no drama. I changed the instrument mounting silentblocks. The left one had broken but I had not noticed it until I wiped the dew off it at work yesterday mornin. Undoing the right one sheared it off, carefuI use of small vicegrips to get the lower half of the old ones out and ran a screw through their holes with a tad of Nevaseize on it so I could seat the newies without stressing them. Used the same screw and a locknut to fit them up again with a tad of Nevaseize on the threads. | |

| Mark, borrow mine until you can find a nice one. Is that one straighten able or is it too deformed? I'm off on the 12th until October but I'll word Michael up that you'll probably be nipping in to flog the wheel.

Thanks Pete. I'm off from the 12th too, and I won't be able to get across to pick it up before then. I suppose I could try to find someone local who might be able to repair it. It also means my Ragged Fringe cabal hopes are dashed. . --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! .

| You want I stick it in a box and send it over? No point in missing out for the want of a wheel! It's even got a half way reasonable tyre on it! I'll see if my idiot mate Marquette is heading to Wagga. I could get him to drop it off. | |

| That doesn't look so bad that it can't be rolled out. If you got no hope locally, ship it up and I'll get done for you here in Bris bain. |

I have seen shipping damage much worse! Of course the packager/handler may have dropped it before it went in the box.. Good luck with the repair.

| Tweaked the CO a bit with Guzzidiag yesterday evening, had a set of new Metzeler Roadtec 01 put on this morning. Took the bike on a 100 km test run after work today and WOW, what a difference! The chassis feels silky smooth and precise, as does the engine. Nice overrun, smooth power output on street corners, all achieved by reducing the CO value. Some of these days I'll go and buy an AFR meter. | |

| GRiSO's at the shop at the moment getting new front and rear pads and new exhaust gaskets as the old ones had perished. The bike was idling at 1500 with the clutch out in neutral and 2000 with the clutch in. Hopefully it will be good when I pick it up on Monday. Meanwhile I'm riding Heather's CB500X. My boss said that it should be called a Singer as it sounds as quiet as a sewing machine. | |

You'll be surprised at what they can fix...I had car rims where chunks were missing and as I was gonna discard it they said no! We can fix that! Turns out they TIG weld beads until you have enough material built up, then they machine both sides to shape and paint if needed or polish the whole rim if it's the desired finish. Anyways, it comes out new, you cannot tell where the repair was made. Amazing.
