| What? It's only 2030. Roper will be in bed, though.
Well done. Ride!

| Ive done a test ride- 44 miles, avg speed 40mph, MPG 45.1. Mixture of 2 miles town, 16 miles country & 26 miles motorway. Bit of throttle lag & lumpiness to start, probable as before just warming up, after 0.5 miles smoothed out, probably up to temperature. Feels like a different bike, smoother power delivery, more responsive throttle, handles better, sounds smoother, reminds me of an 850 commando i had in the late 70s, that kind of smoothness, but with far more power. Basically it has transformed from a beast into a smoother beast. I have just had it rollerised, the rollers didnt make a massive difference, the remap has. Previously i got around 36 ish MPG, so im a bit surprised at the MPG today, has the new map changed recording of MPG to UK (imperial gallons) from US gallons, if not then the MPG is dramatically increased. Beetle resonded in minutes to questions with correct advice, all in all it was easyish to do. If you havent done this yet, i would say go for it, if the MPG is correct ie big increase, then the map will pay for itself. 100USD is a bargain. | |

| Aye, less fuel and linear power. Confounding, isn't it? Nope, MPG is the same. No figures have been fudged, no conversions made. . --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| I just wanted to confirm the MPG figures, so using the fill-ride-fill method. 61 miles, 16 miles country, rest motorway, approx 3 miles filtering very slow traffic on motorway. 47 mph average speed, motorway riding between 5k & 6k RPM (apart from slow moving filtering). MPG on dash 43.5, actual in imperial gallons=51.8, considering the filtering & motorway speeds this was excellent. | |

| Sorry Beetle, i just had to confirm it, if id sat in a pub & told a fellow motor DIYer that id flashed the ECU & got that big an increase in MPG they would have thought i was bullshitting. Now they will still think im bullshitting but i will know I'm right!!!! Thanks Stevie | |

| Nah, there are much better alternatives. You can buy a device that requires you to chop into your wiring loom that will allow you to choose inaccurate AFR figures and also add in a device to alter the O2 sensor signal even though you'll also have been sold a Wunda-map that already has the O2 signal turned off Once you've gone there you'll be able to tell everyone how wonderfully smooth and powerful your bike is as it wears itself to tatters due to monstrous over-fuelling! Beetlemaps work because they aren't built by a charlatan. Yes, you can have smooth and torquey and frugal. All it takes is an ability to shake off the addiction to snake oil. Pete | |
