How do i post photos, ive tried -upload your image-but IT wont let, & i dont know what IT is, but i get to -Host it-, then IT ignores me. Please!! Hopefully Pete can upload pictures as per next message. To cut to the chase, i have a 2010 GRiSO 1200 8v, 6050 miles, over serviced, last 2 times by myself, at 5067 miles in june 2015 tappets ok, i decided to check again a couple of days ago, some small amount of play on L/H inlet, so i decided to remove cambox & check, very disapointed to find coating breakdown on inlet tappet bucket face, with corresponding heat type markings on camshaft lobe, i havent checked the R/H side, it makes no difference. I have used 10 w 60 synth oil as recommended in the owners book, had i left the tappet check for the specified interval i suspect my bike would have been worth its weight in scrap metal (ferrous not precious). If you see the picture, the coating breakdown is small, however it would only degrade faster from now on, probably with similar results to LBCs post on 27 jan with 6400 miles. Pete Ropers video used to assist when removing cam box, excellent & very easy to follow, apart from the Aussie twang!!, not as easy to understand as wot us English folk is!!!. Thanks Stevie

Host them on a site like Flickr and then C&P the bbc into the message.
If you like just post them to me via email, (PM me for address.) and I can do it for you.
It's important that this problem becomes universal knowledge.

Same story for me as Stevie, tried to up load photos and at the last hurdle they wont insert in to the blog
At 25k km I decided yesterday that it was time to have a looksie at the condition of the tappets and cams. Just done the left side as in Petes video (thanks Pete) and I think I got it just in time, a good circle of the hard coating gone on one tappet and a smaller amount on the other one, plus some scorch marks on the cam lobes. I couldn't see or feel any signs of wear on the metal itself so fingers crossed. didn't check the right hand side? I've being riding the Stelvio for the last few months and waiting until I do the roller conversion before putting any more km on the GRiSO. Mine is a 2011 GRiSO and has been serviced meticulously by myself, using the correct oils and filters, so all you guys that say they are all going to Fail, I agree I will try again some other time to post photos!
No dealer on the whole island, so will source the B - Roller Kit from the NL when the time is right!

Go the 'A' kit plus the short plug tubes and new rocker covers if you're doing it yourself. Cheaper in the long run.

Cheers Pete, I'll price the A Kit + tubes + covers, my old covers are starting to blister so I had intended powder coating them, it might work out as cheap in the long run as you said.
There is no little surprises if I go for the A Kit? They are interchangeably with the B Kit except for the rocker covers + tube? Thanks for the heads up,

Basically yes. It's simply the machining of the cambox/rocker carrier casting to accomodate the different plug tunnel sealing options.
Pete
PS. Have Stevie's pics which I'll post up a bit later.

Thanks for the pic upload video. I appear to have caught my tappet problem in the very early stage, all feels smooth, so apart from major costs that i feel are grossly unjust, im hopefully very lucky. If you are ok with basic tools, i would urge you to follow Pete Ropers video & take off a cam box & check, it is really easy & fairly quick. Regards Stevie

At least try for a roller kit from the factory, if you don't get one? Well, nothing lost, but in my experience there seems to be more than a few 'Imperfect' history claims being approved.

Seems that you can only fax, ring or write a letter to the factory, the email address must be secret.

My Sport's done similar miles to yours and the same scenario regarding servicing, but I'm more than a bit pissed off that I've got to shell out a good few hundred quid for an upgrade kit to get rid of the spectre looming over the time bomb top end. I'm quite capable of fitting the parts myself which some people aren't over confident about, that's fair enough, but it's time Piaggio held their hands up and at least admit that they've dropped a big bollock. A stream of complaints can't do any harm . Until mine's rollerised I'm not riding it, which isn't a big deal as its crap weather, but it's having the choice taken away that's a pain.

It's best if you email them from you're own email address page, i'm with aol for example. I sent them one this morning and by this aft had a reply. Positive news really, they said to book it in at the nearest dealer which luckily is only 50 mins from me and they will provide support for the roller kit to be fitted. Whether that means a chair to sit on i'll find out.

Ye I lucked out, I bought it in the UK with a 2013 reg but, it is a 2011 flat tappet model with 9k miles, so I expected that I would have to do the roller conversion on her too!! But when I went to check valve clearances for the first time I couldn't believe my luck when I saw that she had been rollorized Stuff normally doesn't work out like that for me!!
