| Mine's been inspected and found to have no wear, its done 6,500miles. The email today said Sport failures are rarer than GRiSO ones due to softer cams "giving the followers an easier time" so no "valvetrain modifications will be necessary". I'll just have to go and pick it up and do it myself sometime. | |

| No I didn't, just got a message this aft from plaggio to say the chosen dealer had looked at it. They've had it for three weeks and if I'd known in that time when they were going to do it I could have bobbed in as I go past now and again for work, but communication has been glacially slow, and i didn't want to piss them off by ringing a lot . I'll ask if they took pics at the shop, but it's probably unlikely. | |

| Sports in my experience are the worst of the lot. Sorry, I call bullshit.
Pete
PS. As an addendum to that there is probably a very easy way to see if the camboxes have been removed. Whip a rocker cover off and on the upper rest stud under the nut there should be the earthing tang. This looks like a washer with a rectangular *Ear* on it that reaches out and touches the rocker cover.when the nut is undone the washer invariably turns and the tang cuts into the alloy of the rocker retainer plate. If the plate is undamaged I'd hazard a guess the cambox hasn't been removed so the cam and tappets can't of been inspected.
If the bike is a later one with the 'Floating' rocker covers this isn't relevant as the earthing tang was moved.

| I'm obviously not going to get any further with gratis factory parts, so I probably won't run it much 'til I get round to doing the job myself. So when I do pull the boxes and the tappets look like the milky way then i'll know that they've been skanking me. | |

| Sorry for the long delay in update on my bike, (should it be of interest to anyone). Anyway, its sorted, took a while, but MG supplied a kit for my bike, it needed a C kit, i got it back yesterday, the kit was installed by -Fowlers-The Piaggio dealer in Bristol UK. The service manager at Fowlers Chris Wellington, followed up with my case, there was a bit of question over the service history, but it was acceptped, Fowlers installed kit as soon as they could fit it in workshop, it worked in my favour to leave bike with them, so when they had a no show they sorted my bike. At the end of the day im very happy about the eventual outcome, really feel that Fowlers/Chris Wellington had my interests at heart (believe me, i very rarely say things like this), i have never had any prior dealings with Fowlers, thats why im so impressed, they were very reasonable with the cost for fitting kit.. Im still going to flush again, more to satisfy my whims. It now has slightly better MPG, upon cold/startup there is very little response on throttle, after less than a minute the throttle is ok, bit stuttery & vibey but ok. I will maybe give it a 100 miles then do valve checks,TB balance & TPS, then see how it is, not sure what map is in bike, i suspect its the original, how do i check?. Thanks for advice on this to all, particularly PR. | |

| Glad you got it back! Beetle's map is the last step in my process of rescuing a 2011 SE. I have the cables just need to get some more miles on her before I re-check the valves and load the map. I bought it knowing it had flats and no service history then took a chance with a dealer who didn't have a clue about the problem. I feel fortunate that it worked for less than the kit would have cost me. One thing that really helped me I think was that I had my own picture going in. An experienced friend did the inspection process with me (easily bought with beer) but I'm confident that with Pete's write up and video I could have done it myself. With Wayne it took us less than 3 beer each but by myself I guess 3-4 hours. They won't accept your pictures as any kind of evidence but it helped me in getting the dealer on my side and you are REALLY going to need that. I didn't get any BS about "if the valves are in spec the bike is fine" or "we checked and it is o.k.". My picture at 8k. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Stevie, got your PM.
I need to update the GuzziDiag thread. Since V0.38 or thereabouts, "setup" was changed to "preferences". You've done nothing wrong, I've just been slack with my updates. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| I gather from your previous post that you can connect and are seeing the values in measurements?
Click on 'View' -> 'Actors'
When the Actors menu is displayed, on the 'Engine Off' side, click on one of the drop down boxes and select 'TPS Reset', then click 'Start'. TPS reset done. Then from the dropdown menu, select 'Reset autolearning parameters', and click 'Start' again.
You're ready to ride.

| ok, clicked actors, got -fuel pump-ignition L-ignition L-ignition R-ignition R-Rev counter-TPS reset-Reset auto learn parameters- These are all in seperate white boxes, when i click on Fuel pump or ignition boxes, the box goes blue & i get a fuel pump type noise on the bike. If i pres TPS or learn parameters box, they go blue while i hold button, white when i let go. there are no start buttons/boxes. In my measurements throttle is at 4.8. Regards Stevie | |
