A little bit of info on levers for gpranzo as promised. The levers I finally settled on after much procrastination are made by V-Trec, part number BKH KBA91299, can't remember where I got them but they seem readily available if you search using the name and number. They have a little wheel set vertically in them for span adjustment. Hope that helps.
Completely agree with Oz1200Guzzi re fitting of seat covers. It's hard on the hands but very satisfying when you've done it. I stapled the front and rear with just a couple of staples to get it straight and centred and then worked on both sides from the middle towards both ends slowly. When I reached the front and back I removed my initial straightening staples, pulled the cover tight again as some excess material was now evident and finished the job off. Any slight puckers can usually be massaged out with your thumbs. If you can find stainless staples it's worth getting these.

An air operated stapler makes the job much easier. When my brother had his upholstery shop, that's what he used. I've since bought one and use it more than I thought I would.

The method of stretching the cover from the ends works well. And yes, use stainless staples.
