| A 2000 Greenie was my first Guzzi about 15 years ago. I still love that bike but in comparison to a modern 2 or 4v Guzzi it is just a little agricultural. If torque is your best friend then you will love it. All the things to watch out for are well documented on V11.com forum. I would own one again as a second bike, probably only take it out on those "special" [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] days. Sent from Topic'it App | |

| Had a 2000 greenie. There was a rod bolt recall, mine shat itself and rose farms in Woodstock Ill. rebuilt it with higher compression pistons and some head work. Dyno tuned it. It was a strong runner! Watch for swollen fuel tank also. | |

| I still have mine [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Wasn't certain if my affection for the V11 would wane when I got the GRiSO but it hasn't. Still alot of fun. And Pete, Chuck loaned me 'the Mighty Scura' the other day. What a great bike! I couldn't help but grin | |

| Oh that Scura is *Special*! I have absolutely no idea really what has been done to it but it it is a seriously stupid motorcycle!
I haven't really added anything to this thread simply because the V11 series never really *spoke* to me like the Tonti's and CARC bikes do. It seems to be the way of it, I miss out on every other generation. I've never understood the attraction of Loops! I think they are heavy, slow, evil handling, under braked bits of shit! The Tonti's, especially the early ones, I love, and then the Spineframes always left me cold. With the advent of the CARC bikes it was like a new dawn, and now we've gone back again to platforms in the Cali 14 and Nuovo smallblocks which once again I find torpor inducing!

| The last of the Guzzi motorcycles before Aprilia/Piaggio got their mitts in it. I have a bit of a soft spot for the V11 sport series, get one with a carbon fiber or titanium 2 into 2 exhaust and listen in bliss. We haven't been able to duplicate that sound in a CARC bike yet... --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2012 MOTO GUZZI GRiSO 1200SE2013 MOTO GUZZI STELVIO 1200NTX - Orange Blossom Special | |

but at the end of the day, i love it !!
model from year 2000 have the short frame so more response in curve but more wobbleling too. | |

| I have a customised V11 and won't sell it. Different beast and bloody good, especially good gearbox, power is good, handling great once tuned, and a beautiful cafe racer. Makes a great combo with a GRiSO | |

| I can attest to most of the other comments here in support of the V11. I had one for several years and reckon they pretty much met and exceeded the design brief. The 6 spd box was way better than anything else Guzzi had plugged in at the time and the brakes and suspension were pretty good out of the box. Mine was also a red frame green 2000 model - beautiful to look at, it had Staintune pipes also. Just be careful what you are buying as many of them were modded with aftermarket crap over the years. I took mine back to standard with clip ons etc as they were designed, but, it had extended footpegs, bar risers and a conversion plus any other stupid number of other unnecessary items added to it when I took ownership. I only sold mine because I crushed my left ankle on another Guzzi which meant I couldnt change gears for s few years. But that was OK because it introduced me to the joys of the mighty Aprilia Mana. All the best | |

| The Scura was a special edition of the V11 produced in 2002/3 it was black, (Hence the name, duh!) and came with a small screen and Ohlins suspension front and rear. It also had the dreaded 'Explode-O-Matic' aluminium flywheel and single plate clutch. The Olin's suspension was dangerously undersprung for anyone who wasn't a filthy little midget but if it was re-sprung and set up properly it was awesome! I bought mine, which now belongs to Chuck Stottlemyer in Indiana from a bloke on V11.Com. It had had a LOT of engine work and had a PC111 that had obviously been set up by someone other than The Toad who knew what they were doing! It was stuffed full of Mike Rich goodies and was the wheeliest, barking mad V11 I've ever ridden. When I bought it I sent it to MPH and got Mike to take out and throw away the single plate clutch, stripped out the K&N filter and reverted to the stock airbox and picked it up and rode it from Houston to Oregon and then back to LA. It then got sold to Chuck who has vowed never to sell it! It's a very special Scura! I'm not usually a fan of V11's but always regret selling that bike. If you look at Chuck's avatar on V11.com you can see the tiny rubber chicken affixed to its front indicator in my honour by the late and sadly lamented Todd Haven, (Who was as funny as shit!). It is still known fondly by those who have ridden it as the 'Scura RC' | |
