At the Budgie I caught up with Mo'et who had his standard 1200 Sport muffler replaced with a Stage 1 kit under warranty - I missed out on this by about 2 weeks - damn. Anyway we swapped bikes and went for a burn. Stage 1 has more low end grunt into the midrange but wouldn't rev properly, compared to mine. took it back and I ran GuzziDiag over it - TPS was set at 2.5 (yup, 2.5) Idle would increase as the engine heated up, lots of slack in the throttle cables.
Reset TPS and no change in the idle. I downloaded his map and said we can load it back, but I think you should try my map. He agreed and 10 minutes later we had a properly idling Stage 1 1200 Sport. He went for a ride and came back grinning - smmooove was the word - no perceived change in power or characteristics, but smooth and now would idle correctly. He declined to have his map put back in for some reason - anyway now a happy chappy.
Bike had previously been "setup correctly by a Brisbane dealer". I'll check on his progress in the next month or so. Hats off to Beetle - mapaholic extroardinaire!

2.5*! (Gurgle!) "Yeah, they need more fuel, watch me fix that!"
I know who it is.......

Oh and talking of this I have NEVER seen this dealer at ANY training event in Sydney. While a lot of the training may be rudimentary it is a useful grounding in up and coming technology incorporated in Piaggio products. There are some people who are pathologically averse to learning anything new, ever......

Incidently, I rode back with Hatchy (Bella), Randa (V7 Classic) and LG (on Il Bombo - Le Mans Mark III Magni) - a good group to ride with. Rollon on my bike from 4000 left LG speechless, so good work Beetle.
Hatchy is complaining (if that is the right word) that he expected more torque in 5th and 6th - currently he has to go back a gear. I don't know if he is still coming to terms with Bella or he has a real problem. Bella is only 15k on her dial so maybe also not run in properly yet. Hatchy is coming from A Mark III and a Cali background.
Has anyone stepped up to the plate yet (ahem Wayne!) to do a Bella map?

Had a bit of a laugh, Mo'et was riding along on his Sport and I overtook him while in 4th gear, revving the ring so the ECU cut the fuel (8400) - apparently he is still cleaning his undies - I though my exhaust was relatively quiet too. Whatever...
I laughed though. Told him later he could now do that too on his - don't think he thought that very funny for some reason. Just goes to show the standard map has so many compromises.

I did a Bellagio map for Ash Walker. I haven't heard from him for a while.

The restaurant listed above is fantastic. Steak was perfect. Salad had a whole load of thinly grated and very long carrot on it so it was a bit 'Busy' to eat but the steak........ Really a 9 out of 10. I have a real problem with steak as I like it medium rare but on the rarer side. Not quite "Knock it's horns off and wipe it's arse" but close. This seems to be hard for a lot of places. Not so here. It was perfect.
Lemon meringue pie was a bit too sweet but the use of condensed milk as a 'Dip' it hit was a stroke of genius!
Go Narrandera!

Al (The Saint) has visited numerous times with his laptop and played with his knobs ECU settings etc, so I am intrigued but still wandering aimlessly in the dark.
That bloody fat and flat torque curve of his looks inviting.
Haven't been riding Bella, she's fat and rich down low but noo harv the bickies to do somtin' aboot it.
Gave Bevan from Euro Twins "Brad the Biker Boy"s tutorial on Bellagio TPS & TB sync. He's all over it like a fat kid on a smartie. From there it is either re-dyno or down load stock & PC maps, combine and start the home grown tune. But that might be too much for Al to take on.
TV remote still has me confused.

Ah TV remotes - here's how you do it the technical way: Get off your arse, walk over to said TV, grope in the dark for the button (they've all got buttons) and change things - voila!

Just heard back from Mo'et - he is happy as with his map on the ride back to Toowoomba - the bike behaved itself (as you would expect) and used less fuel.
Beetle do you want the Stage 1 map to look at? I will be sending it to Mo'et tonight and you can also get a copy if you want...

Question for the experts. I am awaiting delivery of my 2015 GRiSO. I've already ordered my cables and downloaded the software from the Beetle thread. I'm a weekend mechanic so not in any way an expert but can make do. I've been researching this stuff mainly for maintenance reasons but you all have me curious.
Is there a map I should look to install on my stock 2015? Or is the new map pretty good? Very interested to hear your responses.

The GRiSO comes with the same map since mid 2010. I have built a map for the stock pipe. Works pretty good I reckon.

Not that amusing after all. Some changes in the ignition map only. Plus, it turns out that I had the 'Stage 1' map amongst the maps Ive already collected.

Thought you did have one - but when presented with one in the wild, it pays to pull the map. Anyway, it is an improvement putting in my/our map for the 2V 1200.
