| That's about a 25 min ride north of Perth at one of our football clubs oval. About 2500 bikes on the ride. Mostly HD's. The bike of choice for most people for some reason. Might add the only bikes I saw broken down were HD's. | |

| What did I do with my GRiSO today, replaced the rear Michelin Road 5 with another one after 6000miles of pure fun. I don’t think I’ll get to scrub it in anytime soon so I keep watching this little clip from just 2 weeks ago in our own Snowdonia Natio’ Park. Some of you may have seen that I already stuck it on the GRiSO Facebook page but I thought I’d wave my little willy a little on here too. I’m not sure how long third gear is going to last sounding like a supercharger but it’s always been like that for the 11000miles I’ve owned it and if it breaks I’ll just have to fix it :-) As a rider I’m no Bill Lomas but I do think it sounds half decent and that’s with the dB killer in! | My bike's previous owner put Pilot Road 3s on about 2k miles ago and based on the current tread depth Michelin tells me the tires have used up about 20% of their life. That works out to about 10k miles or so. Anyone else using PR 3s? Is 10k miles typical? Maybe he babied them?

| I wouldn’t say it’s typical but equally I’m overjoyed to get 6000 miles because I like to do skids |

| Nice job with the touch-up, Mark! Shame there isn't an engine guard that fits on these motors like the old brass knuckle style. | Finished the 120,000 km service. Previously reported R/H inner plug was cross threaded. Well it may be but came out with a bit of difficulty. Found a metal disk, 10 mm across and 4 mm thick wedged up against the plug and touching the inner head Allen head bolt.
No idea where it came from, but now removed and new inner plug went straight back in, no worries. I wonder how long that disk has been in there. I wonder where it came from. It's metallic but not magnetic. Bonus?
Good thing is I no longer (at this stage) need a time-sert.
Lucky winner. | |

I didn't realize Harley had that big of interest elsewhere. The bikes were probably made in the SE Asian factory. The Motor Company owners are virtually everywhere, with most riders in the ubiquitous gay-pirate costumes. This in the (German side of my family) hometown, Tuttlingen ... German Harley Dealer. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And, yes, I bought a shirt. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The black beast belongs to the in-law cousin who proudly took me to the dealer. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]When we were in the Alto Adige some years ago, a large contingent of Austrian Harleyists roared into the parking area at the Lago di Braies. Nice folks. They were, however, as was my Harley cousin, somewhat astounded -- and not quite believing -- that an American would ride a Guzzi. | Thanks Bill! They only do have the brand name and the colour in common. The difference is impressive. The GRiSO 8V feels like sports bike next to the Vintage.

| Found out the slight leak/weep under my bike. At some point in the past, I must have lost the drain hose from the air box. I had it (the air box) out last night, and it didn't dawn on me till this morning about the oil film around the air box drain spigot. There simply was no hose.
I must have been half asleep when I put it all back together, but I had a "bingo" moment today. All good, just something else to do. Today I just rode her. All went smoothly except for two different wankers who wanted to rub the tread off my rear tyre - one was in a HSV, the other in a WRX-STI. Does this tell the story or what? Peak hour traffic no less - what's to prove, except they already drive wanker vehicles - it goes without question they must be wankers - with no dick, obviously, or they wouldn't have to drive like that. Fuck!

| Yup, you are right, Mark - try virtual wanker then...
I also started to bed in the new pads and disks. Came from Brembo FF pads to EBC HH pads. Sure can feel the difference in bite. Old pads lasted for more than 120,00 km and still had about 3+ mm on each - still had some stops left in them, but, happier I have new pads in the front.
