| The snowflake is a feature on all the CARC models. I first saw it on my Breva 1100. | |

| That would be about 37deg F. I haven't been in air colder than 40F so that explains it. Can't say I'm looking forward to seeing it for myself. Interesting the manual doesn't mention it but then the manual doesn't mention the problematic starter circuit either so there ya go. | |

| I must have the snowflake on the display all the time! However since I don't wear my reading glasses while riding I can't make out anything on the dash except the speed numbers . | |

| I double check the 1100 GRiSO manual and yes it mentioned that below 3ºC or 37ºF there is an ice symbol displayed on the dashboard but no picture like for the1200 Sport. | |

| Thanks Richard, My manual is a different printing I guess. The pages don't match yours but that's fine. If my eyes were a little younger I'd read it from front to back. They made the print might tiny. I'll check the online PDF. Maybe it's in there. | |

| Anyway I don’t think I will ever see this symbol on my dashboard as I am not as brave as our fellows here | |

| I'm with you on that. I think one will need electric heated clothes at that temp. I know I would. I tense up when I'm cold.

| Back in the late '90's- early '00's Aprilia owners handbooks used to include a warning not to eat any part of the motorcycle so telling you which way to sit on it is pretty small beer.

| Pete, Were the instructions written out or did they provide some sort of symbol not to eat the bike?

One of my front disks is past its use by date, so one of them is in the offing... Fitted new (to me) disks today, and a new set of pads to match. Since I now have GRiSO disks on the front, I feel entitled to be here! Look out, you have been warned...

| So the GRiSO’s off the road for the winter now & I’ve started doing a bit of maintenance & a general look at things. Pulled off the reaction arm to have a look at the bush, suspecting its knackered, with the intention of replacing it if it was. It is, but also found that the reaction arm is bent! So will now but replacing that as well. I’ve found a couple of S/H ones on fleebay at not too silly a price. Other things found so far, mounting lug on the battery box broken off, tank rubber mount broken (same mounting point as the broken lug), TB link rod messed with, rubber mounting for the instrument panel broken. I said in an earlier post just after I bought the bike, that I thought the bike had been owned but a bit of a cowboy in the past, suspicions confirmed. | |

Get one with a good bush and you're there. i replaced one on a 1200 Sport once, a real front bum of a job. That thing did not want to come out!

| The bike needs nothing now, so I have resorted to improving its surroundings in the garage. Behold my new sign: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |
