| Today I installed a plate on the Hepco Becker rear rack so I can use my Givi E52 when traveling. I have 4 givi trunks and just didn't want to have to buy another trunk to use with the rack. As far as I know, Givi doesn't offer a way to mount their trunk on my 2013. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

Moby And a good name for a GRiSO. My teen world view was heavily influenced by Zappa.

Moby And a good name for a GRiSO. My teen world view was heavily influenced by Zappa. Ditto! My nick name at school in the late 60's was Zappa, because I imported every record as soon as it was released in the 'States. My world view still retains a lot of (early) Zappa. I've been "relieved" of many of these original albums but i do still have Lumpy Gravy!

| Ha, here I thought I must be a little twisted and weird to like Zappa, and I have found kindred spirits here. Something about GRiSO owners I guess (Sheik Yerbouti is one of the greatest albums ever) | |

| Well, this is more about what I did with it yesterday. So, Larry "Lash” is coming up from Ormond Beach, Florida, this Saturday evening for our annual “Try Not to Lay ’Er Down” romp wherever it pleases us for a week. Regrettably, this trip, Larry’s coming up in a cage; his Norge, in for some major service, won’t be out in time, all for want of a small, but presently unobtanium part. No matter, he can ride my Norge, and I’ll ride my GRiSO. We’ve done that before; see, e.g., [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Anyway, as Kathi and I had to do some grandbaby (and dog)-sitting for our Army family at Carlisle Barracks, I thought I’d ride the Norge up there — 250-mile r/t by back roads — to make sure it was ready for the road next week. It sure looked ready ... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Uhm … but not … [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Verdict? Dunno for sure; I had to get to Carlisle, so no time for more than a quick multimeter check. Probably dead (5+YO) battery. So, the GRiSO got the nod. Had to leave some things behind, but as we used to say in the Army — and mebbe they still do — “it’s all good training.” Not 10 miles from our home -- code for BFE, W.V. -- I smelled oil, then, on checking, saw a bit on the transmission housing. Rats. Pretty sure, given location and amount, it was just blowback from (stoopid) overfilling, but diverted to EX-dealer in Clear Brook to confirm. That done, had a fine time running up to Carlisle via some grand little roads, e.g., in and around Michaux State Forest. In one instance, I blessed Mandello engineering and Michelin tires for saving me from a low side into a pickup truck on a curve when the rear end went out to the left in some unseen mid-lane sand. Sure wasn't my competence that saved me. Actually, old age and dull reflexes -- tho my screams were youthful enough -- probably helped to slow input, which likely was a good thing. Sometimes nothing at all is the better course. Suspect that the p/u driver told someone about that mo'sickle he saw coming sideways at him, too. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Made it to our kids' home, where the GRiSO was to sleep outside until I saw rain was coming. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]On reflection, rain might have been better than the danger from kid and other clutter! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]But, now, for next several days, there won't be any riding. Instead, it'll be this sort of thing: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And this: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Yes, life is pretty darn good. | Great story, Bill. Glad it turned out like it did. What did I do? Well I did not ride; winter just does not want to quit. This was my driveway this morning. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]So instead, I installed a Gerbing wiring harness so I can use heated gear on the bike. Also verified that my cables from London Electronic worked and downloaded / saved my original map using the IAW Reader. | |

| Took GRiSO for a quickie. Went stupidfast. Yelled at tin-tops. Cursed idiots riding in shorts & t-shirts. Cursed the city council for road works that are taking too long. Swerved to miss a cat that didn't seem to comprehend what it was bearing down on it. Grinned like a loon.
Tops!
