| Thank whoever it's fixed! The performance would be a revelation compared to its previous 'Shaved Ape' form. | |

| Matt, if you've got time off in May, head east to the Ruptured Budgie Rally. There is an absolute awesome piece of road from Texas to Mingoola on the QLD side, via Glen Lyon Dam. Long straights followed by insanely tight corners.
A bit of bloke time to boot, re ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
that should get you through the first night...

| Tony, Wouldn’t mind heading up for the Ruptured Budgie but getting any decent time off to make it worthwhile isn’t likely. My workplace is about to go through an ownership change so it’ll be all hands on deck for the next few months. | |

| Prepped GRiSO for next weekend. Attached the modified pannier brackets. Took it for a shakedown ride to make sure nothing fell off or caught fire. | started the GRiSO today, first time since November, sounded like a tin of bolts until the oil decided it was time to circulate, all good now, looking for the first ride later this week.
Facebroke reminded me that my first ride out last year was the 7th February, just what i dont want to hear!

| Yeah, the tensioners pumping up can be a bit disconcerting after a long lay up . Well today I pulled my alloy three spoke wheels out of retirement and fitted them with my U-Beut RSV4 discs and a set of Conti Sport Attack hoops. Why the super soft sport compound? Dunno really, just felt like it! I've been running TKC 70's on the Stelvio and really like them so I thought that since Autumn is such perfect riding weather and I need to play with the suspension some more I'd just go nuts and buy a set of hoops that will wear out in a few weeks! You only live once eh? Pete | |

| Due to a blocked pipe near the fuel inlet , below the cap, I suffered water ingress. I removed the tank today. I removed the blockage with copper wire and drain unblocker from the kitchen. I hope to find the pipes clear tomorrow when I finish the job off. I was worried about the tank corroding on the inside, but, it really is plastic. Ciao, | |

| Well I just sold the small tank Stelvio I bought and rollerised a few months ago at a modest profit so I'm going out to celebrate by tearing up some rubber on my new tyres on the GRiSO! Pete | |

Pete, is there any benefit to removing one plug from each cylinder and spinning it up until the oil light goes out, before attempting to end the hibernation? I do this when I change oil filters. |

| This morning I took the GRiSO out for a run from Cobar to Nymagee. 100km of nearly straight road to get to a place that has a post office, a pub (not open when I got there) and about 10 houses. I counted 12 corners for the whole trip and all of those could have been taken at 200km/h. Only real excitement was dodging a few errant emus. This exciting ride topped off by the 40 degree C temps that we are getting again. So much for Autumn. Still, getting out for a ride beats most other things. | |

I do this when I change oil filters. Wayne, I always pre-fill filters. On a Bellagio I then screw them on with the sump upside down and then just flip it and bolt it on ASAP. Not perfect but better than puting them on dry. After the filter is filled even if you loose a bit before the gasket grabs most of the oil will still be in there and in my experience it's the difference between about a second to get pressure where it matters and five to ten seconds. Is that important? Well it is to me but whether there would in fact be enough residual oil to form a wedge during those five to ten seconds is of course a question for a Boffin in a white coat with a slide rule sticking out of his pocket! If you don't pre-fill the filter then I'd certainly prime it before firing it up. It doesn't make sense not to. Remember you still have another plug in there firing so it might be a good thing to disconnect the coils or pull the ignition fuse, (If you can without killing the starter.) to avoid any sort of flame-out issues.
