Brutal here at the top of Virginia, too, but not as bad as you are enduring.
Oh, and stop pandering to the Celsius crowd. After all, we have to run half of what they say here through Google translate to make sense of it.
Fahrenheit forever!

are we heading for an imperial versus metric battle here (at least at -40 it's honours even) ?....hope not because when our antipodean cousins wake up we'll be arguing between Wind Chill and Australian Apparent Temperature

Good point. I withdraw my comment out of fear of that.
Oh, interestingly (well, at least to me) and related to all of this, take a look at the gauge on our propane tank. I had been concerned about consumption in these temps. Our radiant-heat system of heated pipes in our concrete slab floor of basement/first level heats the whole house rather effectively and efficiently, but I worried that the suppliers might be overwhelmed just now, so I've been checking daily.

well at least Sydney is on the South west coast of the guage so that bit makes sense....and looks like they designed a meter that can do both vertical & horizontal tanks; so hopefully yours is vertical !

Nope, on its side.
On the bright side, propane "HQ's" assures me that the "cavalry" will be here "soon."
Looking at various options now in case that report is optimistic. Will be boinked if a power outage as our 17kw generator is powered by ... yup ... propane. Have been thinking about getting a smaller dedicated tank for that thing.

Good luck Bill & don't forget as a last resort the 80KW gasoline powered generator with 3.8 (Imperial) galls tank and a pair of wheels...if you need to make a quick getaway

Installed a Go Cruise throttle lock today but this morning it was 19° F in Savannah GA, WTH, and Wednesday we got 3.5" of snow. First time in 30 years and hope it is another 30. I decided not to take it for a test ride. It isn't supposed to warm up until Monday and then it will be raining.

My best to all of you who are freezing your asses off with this "Bomb Cyclone" as they're calling it - nothing like raising the hysteria level another notch or two. There are times when we get pretty sick and tired of our chilly, damp, gray winter weather out here on the Left Coast, but right now a light rain and mid-forties temps is pretty dang tolerable.
Bundle up and cuddle, Bill!

Went for ride into town this morning at 10am and it was already 36 celcius (97 F) and now at 1pm it's 42 celcius in the shade (107) and it's blowing a gale. I don't think I'll go for a ride this arvo.

Went for an early ride to Bright for a heart starting coffee then over the Tawonga gap and onto Myrtleford for Brunch and then home at 10:30 am. In the high country it is very still and a tolerable 28C C/w Melbournes winds and 42C. PS took the Mrs on the back for a bit of excitement

Didn't need the GRiSO as an escape vehicle after all -- though Kathi might have suggested in her sweet way that a cage might be better under all of the cicumstances.
Am now terrified of the invoice that will come $hortly.
Good thing that I can understand that Aussie gauge easier than some of those follow-on posts. Given our temps here, I'm thinking that whatever they are, ghezzi would freeze off his "dam with the yabbies" here tonight ...
Big "warming" trend starts tomorrow; should be downright subtropical for beetle in Milwaukee next week.
Have four grands -- code for hellions who cannot go outside -- visiting later today, or I'd spend the tundra time in the Moto Grappa, mostly looking at my moto-harem. 'Tis not to be; sigh.

Installed a new headlight bulb, Silverstar Ultra and the 194 city light also.
Cut the funnel off the gas cap to be able to see how much fuel is in the tank and while there installed the Givi tank lock ring.
It is still too damn cold for me to get out and ride though.

Yesterday it was 43.5C (110F). Today it's going to be 22C (71F). Much nicer. Going for a ride with Huzo from the Wild Guzzi forum around Crewsick and Castlemaine today. For you Muricans that was one of the big gold rush areas in the 1850s.

Morning ride in town after two weeks holiday with wife and kids. Every ride was great. Really enjoying this bike. Had the Stelvio in Humboldt.

Not sure, after watching that, whether I am elated or depressed. Probably a bit of both.
Keep riding for the frigid bunch north and east of you.

The Malai Lama and I did a quiet loop last Friday.
We met at Richmond for a coffee, did the Bell's Line of Road to Lithgow, more coffee, the back way to Oberon where we had some lunch, down to Taralga for an iced coffee (starting to get warm by this stage), to Marulan where we supplied go-juice to our bikes, to Bundanoon, where we had more cold liquid, back home. Mal Continued into the southern regions of Shitney.
A good day - I covered 565 k, took just under 12 hours to complete, I averaged 4.6 l/100 km for the trip. We mostly behaved with posted speed limits, though the horses were not spared, some minor sillinesses were experienced, especiallly down Jamberoo Pass, when we finally got past the bloke in the ute.
