| Made some spacers on the lathe for the ohlins shock to fit a pretty Blue spring. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Hi Waterbottle - what model Ohlins Shock is that? I have a brand new Ohlins for a series 2 Aprilia RSV twin. From what I can glean this can fit a GRiSO (the lower mount needs to be changed to a clevis type). Thinking of throwing it on. Just wondering what you used. Thanks | |

| I sourced that for Ron. It came off a Tuono 1100 Factory V4. Changed the bottom clevis to a standard Ohlins part. Height adjustable. Internal space of clevis is a few mm wider than the GRiSO rocker, machine 2 alloy spacer/washers to stop sideways movement and bolt/nut scraping the dog bones. Spring rate will be your only other consideration.
Oh, if you can increase the eye to eye length by 5 to 8mm in the process, you will gain some more ground clearance, & slightly quicker turn in. |

| Many thanks - that's most helpful advice about the clevis mount. It's got a threaded height adjuster so may be able to squeeze a few mm out of it but it appears to be the same eye to eye length as the standard shock. Has a 95 nm spring - possibly the same as standard so that might have to upgraded (I'm 99 kg in my birthday suit). | |

| Hi Baross, the new spring I fitted is a 115 Nm Wilbers item. It has a bigger Internal Diameter hence the spacers in the pic. I now have 4 mm bike sag, 31 mm rider sag at dressed weight of 92 kg , total travel ( Checked without Spring on) is around 112mm plus whatever the bump stop squeezes down to. So the 31 mm rider sag is about 1/4 of the total travel.

| Thanks guys - that thread is very informative. My shock has the same spring as your original Tuono shock: 1091-31/95 L199. The shock itself is AP8271 (RSV 2004 to 2009 model). Based on the earlier posts this spring will probably be too soft for my fully kitted up weight (about 105 kg). Thus I might pursue a 36/105 along with the clevis. Any tips on the best supplier for this stuff?
My 2012 model was dreadful (wallowing, bottoming, harsh etc.) until I backed off the both compression and rebound from stock settings and cranked the preload to close to max. Now performs quite well though its hardly a model of smooth compliance. Nonetheless these simple changes plus a set of PR4s have made it into a very nice handling bike in the curves. It was like a wheel barrow with a flat tyre before. Cheers.

| Steve Cramer products is the Aus Ohlin importer. Or any decent suspension tuner ....................... Springs about $200 Can't remember clevis cost $67???? Ron?
Baros, you can buy a longer threaded clevis. Ron you got the part #? On the Aprilia (Ohlin) shock, the threaded (male) end of the clevis had a hole in the side with a spring and pin. The threaded (female) end of the spring retainer had a groove mid way. Presumably as a ride height adjustment LIMITER. It will still screw out, but you will feel the difference.
On ya track bike Ron I'd like to see max of 28mm sag, even better less than 23mm sag, for anti squat purposes. |

| Thanks Ghezzi - that would be a help if you can dig up that part number for the clevis. | |

| Blew the cobwebs out of GRiSO. There were actual webs on the bike and the muffler. And dust all over. Both webs and dust are gone now. I went very fast. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Dropped my GRiSO off with Pete in Bungendore. New discs, new rings, new Dart Marlin flyscreen, new Matris fork inserts, new Matris rear shock, new paint job (Mazda red), maybe a new seat, and whatever else Pete thinks it needs to survive my ineptitude. So looking forward to riding it when all the goodies are on. | |

| Small world !
I'm sure much has changed in the 34 years since I lived there. But still there are great sleepy villages that have a pub & twisty roads nearby. Idyllic memories of summer days & Lincoln Art School girlfriends

Oh, my. I had a more detailed response, but Kathi gave me "The Look," and suggested I amend it. She indulges me in my crushes on Alison Balsom and Andie MacDowell, but I should not test her limits. Bill
