| Hi all. I have been reading this site for a few months and decided to join. I live in Massachusetts and have been here all 49 years of my life. I recently bought a 2015 GRiSO and love it. This is probably the quirkiest bike I have owned other than my K1000R. I actually just bought this off my father (70) for a ridiculous price, so I could not refuse. He has owned over 72 bikes in his life and is down to just having two... I took the third. Anyway, this is a great forum and I may have a question from time to time, but it looks like most have been answered if you just search for it. I will be swapping out the stock muffler and have read the entire "Comprehensive Exhaust" thread. Not sure which one just yet but would like to expose the rear wheel more. Have only put about 500 miles on it so far. Too hot out there as of late. I thought I could just post an image but looks like it needs a host. I will add it later. (Figured it out) regards, Wade [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

Welcome. Quirky is good in motorcycles. Uhm ... most of the time. Seriously, Guzzis are a bit of that, and probably explains why so many of us are drawn to them. Bill

Hi Charlie. Thanks for the info. That is the one I like and will probably go with. Do you have it on your bike? If so, with or w/o the DB Killer? Trying to keep it close to stock noise level, but don't mind a few more decibals. Don't want to upset neighbors when I start it at 6 am. The stock mapping is horrendous on these bikes until you get up to 4K. Wade

| Welcome! Nice looking bike. I'm New to MG & GRiSO myself, have a 2007 1100 and from all the models and color schemes I have seen, is the best looking IMO The Mistral High is a nice pipe, I also like the augustini mondello oval pipe. For now I'm sticking with the stock monstrosity. Cant hear it at speed but at lower speeds sounds great. Do a baseline of your suspension, record all the settings. There is a thread on the suggested starting point or you can start with the recommended factory settings in the manual and then have fun dialing it it. It took me the first week to really get the suspension right. ENJOY, the GRiSO is a very special motorcycle, it is the only second bike I have owned (out of a measly 15 compared to your dad) that I have enjoyed this much. The other is my XS1100. Welcome to the Ghetto! (Best Ghetto I have ever visited) | |

| Wade, I have the Agostini Black X mounted high. Works a treat but I had the pipe extension piece fabricated locally. I beleive that Beetle has spent the most time developing the map for the High Mistral. I see that Beetle has a db killer in and dbkiller out maps. But I think you get slightly more torque with dbkiller in. I leave for work at 5 am on dayshifts. Cheers | |

| Welcome!
On the fueling I haven't done the Beetle map yep but will do so soon. However, changing out the spark plug caps for the NGK's cleared up probably 90% of my problems under 4k. I'd swap those first. It's only $20 and an hour of your time and most folks have had trouble with them eventually. Google Leafman's blow by blow thread on WG and it's easy peasy.
Best mods for me were Onar's risers and the KD lowering pegs (with the matching adjustable brake pedal). Get you front and rear sag set too; you can actually get the stock setup fairly close, especially the front end, if you get the preload right. Then finally check all the cable and lever adjustments as mine were waay off. I'll bet with just a little fiddling you can get that beast to act almost civilized!

Thanks for the input on the plug caps. After reading the posts on WG, I am going to order them and make the swap. Regarding the riding position, I like it the way it is. I am only 5'8", so the pegs and bars work well for me. I like a more forward riding position, but not as forward as clip-ons. I did adjust the sag and other setting based on a post from someone here for my weight and it made a world of difference. I will definitely replace the huge silencer that covers the look of the wheel once I figure out what to get. I like the sound of the stock, but hate the looks. This would simply be for ascetic reasons. Re-mapping whether stock or after market sounds like a must as well. Question to all, has anyone converted the headlight to a dual? Looking to do something like I did on my Bandit pictured below (since sold). Wade [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Welcome neighbor! I have the Termi with DBK in on my '13, remapped with the appropriate Beetle map. I am happy with both the sound and appearance. The map has made a very noticeable difference in the smoothness in lower rpms. | |

| Wow, another GRiSO in the States within 15 miles of each other. That is amazing. I am been toying with getting the Termi or the Mistral high pipe, but not sure. I know it is probably not favored on here but I seriously like the looks of the Ipothesys slip on, but mapping may be an issue. Anyways, we may cross paths sometime in our travels. This is a great board with a bunch of great people from all over the world. Wade - H-E-ROSS wrote:
