Er.. I said that it is used in closed loop. That's at and above 60 degrees. So yes, if you disconnect it, there will be errors In most systems, the stepper will be opened all the way at start, and will close in steps (tee hee) as the engine warms up. Don't know exactly how the ECU monitors it. Probs by current. If the pintle is worn, maybe when it's fully closed, there's more bypass than normal. Of course, the Guzzi docs may well be bullshit. It wouldn't be the first time. Perhaps the stepper starts closing right from the get-go. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Who would really know - we can only try and work this shit out as we go. | |

| From my observation through ScanM5X, the readings on the stepper change with speed even below 60 ° C (compared, however, with the position of the throttle: acceleration-deceleration) sharper change when after a small opening and immediately closing throttle revs falls below 1000 the value of the stepper falls well below 100 (60-80). To avoid to involve more parameters, whether it would be wiser simply to close the intake of stepper?

| At last I managed to deal a bit. Initially I tried to operate with blocked stepper intake. As expected, with cold engine had not increased idle speed, whereas with open I had. So at low temperature shows that the stepper operates correctly. Yes; With the engine warm, I could not do repeat observations which could drive me to sure conclusions, except that dropping Revs after closing throttle was more limited So I decided to repeat throttle bodies cleaning. I did not notice anything special, nevertheless I was again fastidious. When checking balance, slight adjustment was needed to butterflies and by pass screw. Here I want to point out that this time left the engine to warm up enough before the process (not sure if the previous time had exceed 60o C although it has noted several times in the ghetto). The result is quite satisfactory, the drop of revs after closing throttle is minimal (never below 1000 rpm), the throttle response is better though not as I would like. I'm not sure if it was ever better, and I do not know if this is normal. Nevertheless I would like to improve if possible the operation and to do something to reduce the on-off throttle sensation at very low rpm. Any suggestions? | |

| Make sure you have minimal free play in both throttle cables.

| I did follow your suggestion Pete from previous posts. | |
