| Earlier in the evening I managed to escape the usual duties and fit the Agostini slip-on. Interestingly, when I picked it up I realised that there was no cat fitted. Bummer, this pipe was supposed to have one, it even came with a piece of paper specifying the type of cat used and compliance with E3. Never mind, I had to get it on as I couldn't contain my excitement. I decided to start the beast with the Dbk in. Hhmm, very civilised, slightly louder but cleaner than stock, not as deep though. Looks great on the bike and you can feel the difference in weight lifting it off the stand. Very pleased. Anyway, I couldn't help my self, I had to remove the Dbk. So I did. Woohoo, that's one angry beast. At idle it is not disturbingly loud but it is deep and low enough to make the walls shake. Surprisingly, the bar was no longer shaking side to side as much which is a bit disappointing. Quick roadie then, to see how bad it is without the cat and Dbk. Fuck me drunk, something mustn't be right. The good: It still sounds civilised under light throttle and cruise. Absolutely no downiness, unlike some of my previous bikes with open pipes. Open it up and it barks. I have never ridden anything that sounds this good. Below 3000rpm it is still slightly hesitant and indecisive, not too different from before. Above that though, it revs with fury, noticeably faster than with the stock anchor. It is infinitely smoother for some reason. No popping. Blipping the throttle while downshifting is more pleasant. Seems more happy and lively. The bad: The good angry vibes are pretty much gone. The car alarms. The ugly: Nil Anyway, it was a quick ride as it started pissing down and I was in shorts. The impressions may change when I go on a longer ride. I will also make an update with the Dbk in. Few pictures. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Put that in your pipe and smoke it...
Agostini has a winner there, looks great on the beast that puts the man in Mandello. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2012 MOTO GUZZI GRiSO 1200SE2013 MOTO GUZZI STELVIO 1200NTX - Orange Blossom Special

It's part of the Qld magic, at the end of January (state elections) we're going to use it to make our Premier disappear. |

| That is a very well balanced GRiSO! Looks like you are good to get rid of the side-stand....apparently not needed Very nice pipe. I like the way it opens up the rear wheel. Glad you think it sounds good too. I was / am thinking strongly on that one or the hydroform. | |

| Indeed, GRiSO is a very balanced machine. Comes in handy when servicing the beast.
The HF ago may look even better as it's curved similar to GRiSOs tail. I find it a bit too modern looking though.
Well, I emptied one tank without the Dbk and really loved how it emphasised GRiSOs character. I'll fit the Dbk and see how that pans out. If anything, it should give me a fighting chance to not be labeled menace to society.

| Hey Saint, when you said the "good angry vibes are gone" does that mean it vibrates less for the rider? I'd love to ride longer and sound better, if that's what this Agostini does then I might have to replace the BEAUTIFUL stock muffler. | |

Yes, but the next day I rode some more and it was back to normal. When I swapped the muffler, I couldn't be bothered to reset the learned values. Therefore, presumably, the system hadn't had a chance to trim it self during that brief ride. The atmospheric conditions may have contributed also. Eventually though, the idle became more erratic and shaky. Off/on throttle jerkiness remained less pronounced and anything above 3500 rpm still smooth. Below that isn't much fun and the fuel consumption became obviously higher. Vibration is a subjective opinion and should be taken with a grain of salt. I find the high frequency vibration of multi cylinder engines annoying. GRiSOs vibes are more like therapy. So far I had no fatigue nor tingling hands/feet after a dawn till dusk ride. Anyway, I wouldn't invest in an expensive can especially if you like the standard unit. Rather, I would get it tuned. Simple thing to do, if you ride lot of highway, have the cylinders synchronised at the rpm you normally cruise at. People seem to very happy with Mark's map which is a lot cheaper than a noisy can. Time to make some noise.

| I think I'm gonna have to make a map for the Ago. They've become quite popular. Here in Oz, it's an approved accessory available from Guzzi as well. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| My logging gear should be here in a week or so. I'll drop over so you can walk me through the installation then I can do the log work if you like.

| OK gang, here's the plan. I currently hold some of Mark's donation money. He's suggested I use this towards one of these Ago pipes which I then use for logging purposes and then on-sell. I'm happy with this.
If we buy a pipe from overseas it will probably cost in the vicinity of $800US, this is what AF-1 has them for, or slightly less from Agostinis themselves BUT then there is shipping and all the other embuggerances involved in getting it here and/or ensuring the Italians take off the VAT/GST.
At the moment I can order one from the importer for $820AU ex-tax so add on GST and it's going to be $902. I'll be more than happy to on-sell it after Mark has built the map for it at that price and I will fit it, re-map your bike and give it a TB balance for free.
Any takers?
