Anybody have a favorite stand when storing your GRiSO for a while? All my other bikes come with center stands or had a wheel chuck come with the bike. My GRiSO is on the way and might be on its side stand for a while.

Not yet. I'm doing admin and beauracrat stuff. When I'm done I will have a stand.

I'm rather partial to the Baxley Sports Chock. Solidly built by God-fearing Bubbas in Louisiana. There are some crappily made Chinese imitations around too ....
I've learnt the hard way not to trust Italian side-stands any more than necessary ! I also have the Becker Technic workshop stand - kinda like a 'clip-on' center stand. I don't find it that easy to use.

I am shopping for one of these Baxley Sport Chock too, read many positive reviews about it.
The shipping cost is the deal breaker, I guess it weights substantially and doesn't pack like a IKEA furniture

I've got one of them chocks. Good thing, but you still need a stand to get the rear wheel off the ground occasionally. I have the Becker-Technik unit for that.

Yup, its a heavy piece of kit. I think it cost $50 to ship to Florida. However, it is markedly better made, and more solid, than the Chinese ones sold in Cycle Gear (a motorcycle accessories chain in the US).
In fact, my GRiSO is in the chock now, while I do the 'Roper recommended Swingarm greasing' : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
and install this stuff (Matris shock and fork cartridges): [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Incidentally. Guido might have been having a Bipolar greasing day: the swingarm bearings and shock linkage had plenty of grease, but the driveshaft splines had almost none. Different people on the Assembly Line probably.

thanks for the photos Jeremy.
I have the Becker Technik stand but need a front wheel chock for the same reason as you.
Shipping cost alone is US$131.85 If I buy from ebay.
I have seen the cheaper China made copy, wouldn't trust it to hold my 200+kg fat green GRiSO.
Now, where is my piggy bank...

Hot tip for international shipping. 6lbs of goods cost me US$95 for shipping via UPS/USPS whatever. Took 8 days to Australia. 65lbs (6 tyres) cost US$105 via DHL and only takes 3-4 days to same address.
The clincher is, a DHL account is needed by at least one party, so if the sender doesn't use DHL you can get your own account and DHL will collect and bill you for the shipping. Of course you will have to haggle with the e-bay seller over this issue.

Bit the bullet today and bought a Baxley Sport Chock from Victoria, Virginia.
I hope it will survive the transcontinental shipping tumbles.
Finger crossed.

It you do a bit of messing around with a welder or are just cheap like me and like making stuff you can make your own, Not a Baxter but does a nice job of keeping the bike upright for checking oil level etc.

Very nice GC and looks simple enough. Wish I could buy something like that as I'm a really crap welder.
I bought the $59 one from Harbor Freight - with at 25% off coupon and $6.99 shipping it was a deal. Solid, adjustable, works fine. Has rings for tie downs.
