You can’t just stick the acid in and fling it in the bike. Well you can but what will happen is when you start it the acid won’t of had time to be absorbed properly by the plates and not only will the plates tend to warp and short out when the alternator’s charge goes into it but the acid can boil out of the battery damaging the bike.
Put the acid in the battery and leave it for at least an hour, I usually leave them overnight. Then give them a trickle charge for an hour or so or install, start the bike and go for a ride for an hour or so.
If it is a decent battery and is put into service correctly they should last for years if used regularly. In any GRiSO it’s also important you use a 20AH battery NOT a 16AH. A 16 will work, (I currently have one n my red bike, but simply because I couldn’t quickly source a decent 20.) but it won’t last nearly as long as a 20 and the bike will be a lot more prone to the risk of ‘Startus Interuptus’.
It is AGM battery by Yuasa.
I am going to follow your guidelines:
leave it overnight after acid fill up etc..
My previous battery worked fine/did not show any 'Startus Interrupts' issue, so I thought I would be ok if I order the exact same model ( which is rated at 18AH ).
( Before I saw your post )
Next time, I will order a
20AH capacity battery.
Wondering: How often ( at a minimum ) should I be riding to be able to say 'if used regularly'?
( I have a trickle charger which has 'AGM' charging mode button, and a charging cable installed on the bike )
