It's sad, but unfortunately many times you believe your are relying in professional technicians that end up doing stupid mistakes, either by being dishonest or ignorants.... That's why many times - if I have access to reliable information, and the necessary tooling & skills- I prefer to do things myself.

it s perfectly true. If you want a things be done carefully, do it yourself
the problem is that it needs: time space tools knowhow
Anyway in the next days i want to refine the setting, hoping to get back more feeling with the bike when in turns [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I recently did the static sag test just standing behind the bike and pulling the C-bow carrier up: I should be quite in the ballpark of 15 mm, as it is less than 2 cm and more than 1 cm ...
I was so much looking forward to a long tour scheduled for months, that would have led me from Salzburg over Italy, Slovenia and Croatia up to Sarajevo. But with snow expected down to 1.500 MSL and 7-9°C we will postpone it. The weather-god hates me!

If you increased the sag in the rear ,you might feel the bike resists a bit more lenning into the corners. In that case you might need to lower the front a bit... If the front sag is OK you can try dropping the forks a bit (more rings showing on the fork tubes). I did that on mine a couple of years ago and the difference was noticeable...

@Mathias: What is your setting for the number of rings showing on the fork?

Currently 4... There's a pole about fork position in the forum: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Despite the last spring i've used, i currently running with LESS sag. Infact the bike seems clearly higher.
I think i can get more preload remaining in the correct range of sag. But before touching anything else i need to do some turns (this need a long ride because there isn't near my home) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

@motografando: Did you get some rides in since September? I guess I just had my last spirited ride for this year last Friday - we are now in single-digit temperatures °C and the next windy/stormy day will cover the good roads with leaves, while increasing moisture will stay throughout the day. My suspension settings are now spot-on and the increase in preload really was a good idea.

Hi, yes, i'm riding regularly the bike, here this is the best period to ride, with temperatures between 10 and 20 °C.
To be honest i'm not yet very happy with bike behaviour. I continue to get low feelings for my standard. The bike seems unbalanced...i have a massive rear tyre wear and at the opposite, front tyre seems not working.
I believed to have found a quite good suspension setup, not too harsh on the bad roads (that are the greater part of my rides...).
Anyway i'm not completely confident especially riding downhill...but i think at this point that the culprits are the tyres i'm using.
Another point is that the bike lowers quite much when during cuple rides plus top case....but i think it's quite normal because is an huge 55l givi case.

Tires are a very personal choice, but I am very happy with my Dunlop Roadsmart IVs. They compliment the bike quite well and are confidence-inspiring in a large variety of conditions. A well-filled very large topcase will and must make a difference - especially if added together with a passenger. There just isn´t a lot of suspension travel to play with and dampening settings are even more crucial with varying load.
Temperature-wise you are a lot better off: current temps range between 1° and 8°C in Austria ...

Hi, specially if you have constant rate springs (not progressive) you should adjust the sag depending on the load you put on it. For an ocasional pillion I don't do it, of course, but if I am going on a long ride I definetely do it. Pay attention if you are getting the recommended sag on both ends - front and rear - otherwise the bike will behave awkward.
Since I made the rear suspension overhaul (shock rebuild, suspension linkage bearings, Hyperpro spring) I played a lot with the suspension adjustment. I am using now less compression (and rebound) dampening (front and rear) than I used to. Cannot say exactly where I stand now because I just adjusted it during my rides, back and forward, depending on how it was feeling. In case you haven't notice the tip of the ignition key is a perfect suspension adjustment tool I'm happy with how it feels now. More confortable and less demanding for the tyres. Feels also safer, because before, when I was hitting a bump in a corner, I was sort of losing the ground contact. I will check where the adjuster are now and post it.

@Matias: Hitting a bump meant hitting the (disintegrating) bump stop after having consumed all of the available travel (with the stock spring) = there is nothing left the shock can do for you. No wonder this had us struggling for that minimum amount of traction that would make the difference between riding on and having to pick up 250 kg of crashed bike ...
