Rear wave rotor Empty
PostSubject: Rear wave rotor   Rear wave rotor Icon_minitime1Fri Feb 02, 2024 1:44 pm

My rear disc was gone. At front i have wave discs and wanted to match with the rear.
Ended up as galfer with Galfer DF955W from Spain.

Ordered from Rimini Italia. Genial moto.

Mounting the disc was an easy job but there was an issue.
The disc bolts hit the speed sensor.

I mailed with Galfer. They suggested to return the disc.

I did not!

Went to a machine shop for a little modification.
130 euro for the disc and 40 euro for modifying.
Pictures say´s it all.

bolt depth between original and Galfer wave model.

Went to a machine shop for a mod instead of sending the disc back to Italia.

After all a succes. Total costs 130 disc and 40 = 170 euro
And yes new brake pads installed as well.

Interesting. Glad it worked out in the end. Just for clarification: did you order the wrong disk, or did they suggest the wrong disk, or did you order the correct one but got sent a different (i.e. wrong) disk?

I did order the right disc.
I wrote Galfer a mail with foto's.
They answered that i should return the disc.

I did not send it back as i didn't found an alternative in rear wave discs.

Google DF955W and GRiSO.

Are you a heavy user of your rear brake Sir? Were you possibly inadvertently resting your foot on the rear brake pedal?

I'm not assuming anything, it's just that you don't often hear about REAR discs wearing out, at even 34,000 miles unless there might be a caliper problem or the pads are not retracting properly... Lots of Racers NEVER touch their rear brake...

Anyway, glad you got your problem solved, Ride safe! Very Happy
