| Damn, I miss NZ Rugby, which we are good at... Love a decent motorcycle road, so while in Canada in the white season I went crazy and brought a Moto Guzzi Norge, then the sun shone for awhile, actually rode that Going To The Sun Road was amazing meet some great people then Beartooth Highway, that road is better than NZ roads you climb over 10,000 ft higher than Mt Cook. Then the problem starts I brought a 2013 GRiSO from Dave at MI, but want to take it back to NZ plus my Norge, Norge is ok but need a LH dip headlight for the GRiSO. Pete suggested a Hella but he's a Aussie. Any headlight out there plug and play. | |

| Welcome Mike, hope you can take the GRiSO back to NZ. Would doubtless be more difficult for Oz with our nanny rules. A Hella lamp insert is a workable solution, otherwise Mr. Roper wouldn't have suggested it. My GRiSO has one, not as attractive as the projection type reflector and clear lens in a modern sense, but works well as a lamp. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Thanks Richo,
NZ want's $680 for just the headlight not paying that another thing I have learnt is that any bike manufactured after 2002 has to have a brake inspection.
A shop has to pull rotors, calipers off measure everything and take numbers off pads to make sure they are original.
What they don't tell you is that you can apply for a exemption from the light vehicle brake rule at NZTA.
At one time purchasing a motorcycle that was manufactured in the US you did not need to worry about the brakes but it seems the rules have changed, a bit of information that may be useful.
Cheers Mike

| If you want a very bright Led headlight try JW Speaker. AUD$650 but would be a lot cheaper to bring home with you, they have left and right 'dip'. There are other cheaper versions in the US that may even be better. Warning. JW Speaker head light has a definite horizontal cut-off on high beam, (white below / black above). Pain in the arse if you like night time mountain riding. | I may have a source for an original type lamp with cut off to the left for right drive vehicles. Currently doing the back and forth with a pleasant seller in Taiwan. H4 bulb and parking lamp in base.

| Hey Mike. When are you coming home to NZ? And where abouts? I'm in Christchurch.
I don't know if its exactly the same process, but i re vinned an SV1000s about 12 months ago. I was allowed to measure disks and pads myself and sign a statement. It wasn't anymore difficult than that.
If you make it to chch, come for a run. Only thing better than a GRiSO on the road is 2. | |
