If the weather forecast is good, we want to go for a 8-day tour through Wales. Good as in "don't get soaking wet every day".
We're going from Brecon to Snowdonia and back.
Any Welshman here who can inform us about the local weather and forecast? Which weather site is recommended (besides the one that always gives good weather)?

I'm Welsh but living in Sussex.
Weather near or on the hills is changeable-quite rapidly sometimes. This time of year, it's a bit pot luck. I usually go for BBC weather.
Have fun.
the A470 is a great road-best started outside Merthyr Tydfil, then over Storey Arms and onto Brecon, heading towards Dolgellau. It's easy to do little diversions off it to the coast.

Look out for stray Corgis crossing the roads!

interesting topic, I will head in the same direction with my yesterdays bought, brandnew old 2008 GRiSO at the end of this month... anyone suggestions about Moto Guzzi dealers in this area? (just in case anything goes wrong...)

no, it hasn't been rollerized yet. so I do hope nothing goes wrong during the trip. fingers crossed. actually, how long can I keep on driving, IF something should go wrong with the tappets?

How many miles has it got on it? If over, as an average, 10,000? It will be severely degraded. Sometimes it takes longer. In many cases the damage can be serious long before this! Don't take my word for it! There are members of this forum specifically in the UK who's bikes shat themselves in much lower mileages.
I don't pluck these ideas or figures out of my arse. Believe me when I say from my experience, which is extensive, the best thing to do is rollerise as early as possible. There are no 'Good Ones', you won't 'Get Lucky'. I defended the original design for years. That bit me, and my customers on the bum severely! It prompted me to do a lot of research. The results are, at least to my mind, irrefutable.
Rollerising isn't cheap if you have to pay for it yourself. It's still a lot cheaper than having an unsellable piece of broken munt in your back yard.

la signora has 20.000 kms on it... with a full service history. I called an official guzzi dealer here in Belgium, to make sure she's fine, he will service the machine on 19/06. The only point is that I booked this trip to Wales on 30/06, and I have been told that the spare parts can take very long to arrive... hope not, if so. the other thing is that the reseller of the machine gave me 1 year warranty starting yesterday. but he is not a Guzzi dealer. what should I do. :/ sorry if this is getting offf topic

No worries.
Thing is there can be no outward signs of damage. The bike may run well and appear fine. The problem is that there is damage its just not visible to casual observation.
To actually check you need to pull the camboxes. This isn't hard, watch the video of me doing it, it's thirteen minutes to do the left side on a GRiSO, and the damage will be clearly visible.
If you do choose to ask them to inspect, and I truly encourage you to do this, ask for pictures of the tappets before the work is begun If they can't or won't supply them find somewhere else.

but do you think I could keep on driving my tour to Wales (+/-3000km) with "not so good" tappets? anyway, the MG dealer will tell me something about it, I suppose.

My guess is the dealer will tell you it either doesn't exist and they've never heard of it or that it's very rare and you shouldn't worry about it.
As to your question of will you be OK on your tour? I have no idea if it will terminally fail to proceed but make no bones about it, it will be destroying itself.
Pete

Yes mine was dead at 2,200 miles and needed new crankcases, crankshaft etc as the previous owner had kept riding it after it had started degrading

Well.... due to circumstances we went to The Ardêche in France. That was by all means the best vacation we ever had.
