This is my second bigger trip with GRiSO.
Initially we did plan to drive as far as Ohrid in Macedonia but the bad weather did force us to stay further north (and in fact shorten the trip by 2 days)
Here is the overall route:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]We did start early 4am in Graz drove the bikes to Split on a trailer.
We did reach Split around 10, parked the car and trailer there and started down south.
Went the standard sea route down to Dubrovnik using the new chinese built bridge.
The coastal ride starts to be interesting around border to Bosnia, passed Dubrovnik and reached around 4 pm the beautiful city of Kotor.
Day1:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Dubrovnik:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Kotor:
a tiny version of Dubrovnik
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Day2:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]was the most beautiful day, the whole ride from the bay of Kotor up to the mountains was just incredible
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the road in the highlands was pretty narrow and super bumby, here the highest peaks (i assume) of monte negro
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]we went up till Tara river which claims to be one of the cleanest in europe
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and then turned down to south first to Podgorica following the river, which was again a nice ride and then to Budva, an famoust but overdeveloped beach town / bay.
Day3:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the landscapes south of Budva / Bari are agan awesome, the lake was ok-isch
the ride north to Niksic a highway like ride
we tried to cross the border but failed as that was a local only crossing -> 50 km detour on a super narrow road with some free running cows.
in those 3 days we had chicken, goats, cows and even some free running horses on the street.
There was way more traffic in Bosnia and during the whole ride up to Mostar we did not take one picture.
The old city of Mostar is tiny but pretty
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Day 4:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]whole day was cloudy and fresh, city of Sinj was nice and we did reach in Trogir, which again is a beautiful
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Day 5:
Took the short ride to Split, switched to car and then it started to rain and continued for the next 4 hrs.
so yes we did not reach but we also had no real rain in 4 days and almost never wet roads.
so pretty lucky.
not that lucky was the ride back home in the car:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]no idea where that came from: we were alone on the street, no bridge, no cars ahead.
