My 2006 1100 is starting to show signs of age despite the low miles. The black plastic tank has some very minor scratches, and I think could really use a polish. Does anyone have any tips on what to use to shine\polish the plastics? Products, techniques, strategies that work?
Thanks!

I used Turtle Wax on my black 2007 GRiSO. Worked wonders but the shine didn't stay for very long.

Plexus works a treat but it is not cheap. It's a dedicated plastics polish - spray on, rub off (kinda like wax on, wax off).

I managed a high end art gallery where we sometimes had plexi displays custom made at great cost. The unwashed masses left fingerprints on them every day. I told my staff that if they touched them with anything other than Plexus and microfiber cloths their miserable lives would be forfeit.

If you’ve neglected it. I would use the suggested products mentioned above, more than once. Maybe 3 times and rub it in good.

Can I just say that 'Black Tank Polish' sounds like a character out of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'. Douglas Adams would be proud.
Don't forget your towel........

Thanks everyone. I think I have some Plexus in my future. Black Tank Polish would be saying "Don't forget your (microfiber) Towel" Don't Panic!

All of the above ^ indicates that these parts have the color molded in as opposed to painted. Am I interpreting this correctly ?

I’m certain they are painted. If you take a tank off and look at the underside you can see where they didn’t paint as well as the top. Plus, when my first tank started peeling the stripes from ethanol expansion, it peeled off some of the paint too.
