| I've read that the 2v 1200 can suffer various high idle issues. Stepper motor, etc. But my issue is a bit different.
- The bike starts up easily and settles into a normal ideal (1050 ish) when warm. - Pull in the clutch - all is well. - But as soon as I snick it into gear, the idle goes up to 1800.
This feels like an electrical signal issue of some sort? I read an old thread elsewhere about the possibility of a micro switch in the clutch circuit, but it wasn't clear if that would affect a signal to the stepper motor somehow?
Thoughts?
Thanks for any help!

| ECU picks up it's not in neutral. Some it happens when the clutch lever is engaged.
Call the 800 # and ask the engineer at Piaggio. I didn't make it.
I have seen it in person. Has your stop screw been tampered with, yellow paint gone?

| I thought it was designed to increase the revs slightly, when the bike is placed into gear with the clutch disengaged. This was to compensate for the slight extra drag the clutch creates, and avoid a stall. | |

| 1800rpm is very high. Also my GRiSO (2009 1200) didn't do it on the original map and has not done it on the Beetle-map.
So does anyone know which bikes are affected?

| The 2230G803 GRiSO 1200 map (2010 ->) had the idle rise built in. Norge as well, IIRC. The 2V 1200 Sport shouldn't do it. Check the clutch micro switch. Does it start in gear with the clutch pulled?

| Thanks for the help, I've discovered that the tab that engages the clutch switch is missing. I'm thinking the adjustable levers are not factory? When I click it in gear, the rpm climbs to 1800, but if I manually push in the clutch switch pin, the idle settles down to normal...so I'm thinking something in the clutch circuit is affecting the ECU to adjust idle. As well, the bike will not start in gear with clutch lever pulled. This will be an issue if I stall it at a light. I've disabled (jumped) the clutch switch on many previous bikes. I may do that, for at least the short term, on the 1200. Note: I bought the bike in January, but only had my first ride yesterday. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| No, they're not factory levers. I had clutch micro switch issues when I switched to radial master cylinders, so I installed a hydraulic switch.
