Hi all ...don't laugh ... I dropped my bike on my lawn and unfortunately there was a sprinkler in the way. Miraculously the only damage was a cracked spark plug cover ... having real issues trying to source one in Australia... everything is taking months at the moment. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be grateful. Cheers Charles

I replace mine with NGK ones.
Moto International (Dave Richardson) recommended NGK CR8EIX Platinum plugs with NGK SB05F spark plug caps. Still working great!

$48.00. If you want me to stick one in with my next order I can do that. Probably take three weeks from when the order goes in.

Pete, I would be so grateful. I'd enjoy the ride down to you once it arrives. I'm not sure if you kept my number 0480 183 987 ... do you want me to send money in advance?
Also, while I've got your attention.. a mate wants to wrap my pipes with kevlar wrap... I've read some terrible things about it on titanium pipes. Being gentle with me ... what's your view?

You have titanium headers and some fool wants to wrap them? No. Don't.
You don't need to wrap any exhaust, ever. Furthermore, if you have titanium, you want to see that lovely purple colour.

Thanks Beetle, I agree. I certainly won't be having them wrapped now. Don't know what got into my head. I read in an old thread, I think from Pete Roper, that ever once in a while, a rub over with a very fine scour pad and penrite penetrative oil keeps them in check. Cheers for the feedback. Charles

Jon, no! I've dropped mine more time than I can count in my driveway or stopped at an intersection.
Charles probably had his side-stand dig into the grass and it just kept going - easy enough to do. Though it is on the R/H side of the bike, so maybe a high-side?
I too, have broken a few of these things - they look good but don't do what they are designed to do. If made out of a high strength Al or Ti, I think they would serve better, especially if they stuck out another 10-12 mm - I have killed a sparkplug going over on the driveway.

Tony I am not unsympathetic but... years ago (on a Spada) I killed a sparkplug cap in a petrol station - audience of 10 - no excuse just fluffed the clutch pulling off put my footdown too late etc etc
I hope someone laughed at me then because otherwise....what a fecking waste
Most embarassing one was on a 97 M900 I popped into a remote office to get onto the system and get some work done but the jobsworth at reception gave me "you cant park that there" !!! So i left and rode off with gusto (but sadly also with the disk lock on) ... Early upsy down forks did not take prisoners - the caliper carrier broke off - cost me a set(!) of sh fork legs..... I surely hope someone got a laugh out of that because i didnt

LCJohnny ...yeah, I couldn't believe it ... trying to get her back on her feet was really super difficult... if it's any consolation, the sprinkler is fine

It did fall to the right ... I leant on the bike while taking a phone call ... please don't make me relive the embarrassment ...
