The first Grisos had some issues with the fuel hoses used inside the fuel tank. You need to disamble the fuel pump and check the hose. Mine was swollen. Nearly same issues. After replacing no issues anymore. Good luck. Did you check the inner sparkplugs too? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Drain the Fuel tank, then dismantle it, the fuel connectors are not easy to disconnect sometimes, use some silicone spray... After diconecting everything turn the tank upside down. Only a few screws, then you can remove the whole unit. I had to do this in the middle of nowhere, because the hose slipped of the fuelpump... so you can do it at your place. Get yourself a good hose - needs to be fuel and alcohol resistant! And some Stainless steel hose clamps. It will only take you 1/2 hour.
side stand switch is ok did check it as its a ducati type problem Im investigating the fuel pump/hose Regards Steve

now not starting at all have a spark so guess something fuel related can hear the pump priming it ran for a bit after the new parts no better tho
Another thought. While you had the pump out did you notice how much water there was in the tank?
One thing that can cause fuel ptessure issues is the fuel pressure relief valve. It's a cheap shitty little steel thing and the springs scan rust and weaken. Needless to say you can't buy them from Guzzi as a spare part...
Not much water in the tank at all now got it running changed all the hoses in the tank found a bad clip I think perhaps it was losing fuel pressure it did lose all pressure when the hose came off and it totally stopped Thanks for a the help Regards Steve

Just to conclude it was a dying fuel pump causing all the issues replaced and now running well Thanks for all the help Regards Steve
Steve, could you tell me what pump you replaced it with, and where you got it from? I am experiencing similar symptoms with my GRiSO and may have to go the same route.
If the tank gets a lot of water in it, either from a blocked filler drain or simply condensation the fuel pressure relief valve, a cheap and nasty little thing with a steel spring inside, can corrode and the spring can break or rust away resulting in diminished or inadequate fuel pressure.
Needless to say Guzzi don't supply the valve as a spare part and expect you to purchase a new pump at an absurd price! Bugger that sez I!
