Hi all,
I'm new to this forum so thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm purchasing a 2011 Tenni 1200 GRiSO SE either tomorrow or Wednesday after looking at it on Sunday and taking it for a test ride.
I wasn't really looking at a sports type of bike but like most owners, I found this bike too much to resist.
The GRiSO I'm buying is shown below and is a 2011 Tenni 1200 GRiSO SE with only 14000 klm's on the clock. As can be seen this bike is faultless other than a mark on the Termignoni Slip on. I'll get some metal polish onto that and see how that goes. Otherwise I'm not too concerned.
Everything of significance has been done to this bike i.e.
- Rollerised tappets - Wilbers rear shock - Wilbers front fork internals (original pipe and fork internals supplied) - Termignoni Pipe - A dart fly screen - Rizoni bar end mirrors - Upgraded ECU mapping making the power delivery smoother - New Michelin Pilot Road 5 tyres - And it's just been serviced
So the bike is almost the full package other than what to use for luggage on a trip. I notice MG have fitted 4 lugs under the rear mud guard so strapping a bag to the back seat will do for now until I can find something that doesn't detract from the bike's look.
This bike is completely different to what I've experienced in the past where I've mainly had dirt bikes early on, then a Triumph cruiser, two Triumph Tigers and I'm currently selling a BMW GS.
I've decided the off road thing isn't that important to me now, nor is the big touring rides but I'll keep an open mind on the last. I'm now more interested in a bike that easily takes me round town (I live in the CBD of a large Australian city) with style and ease.
Anyway, that's my intro. I hope to learn lots on here about the bike and perhaps make some friends along the way.

Nice! Only other thing I would suggest is greasing the swingarm and shock linkage bearings.
As far as luggage is concerned the factory panniers and bags work OK but seem to be NLA. The C-bow system are popular as well.

Thanks for the compliments guys and the tips on greasing the swingarm and shock linkage. I did read about that somewhere but now I've heard again it's obvious it's something that needs to be kept in check.
Any other tips would be much appreciated as this bike is completely new to me and I've never had a Guzzi before either.
I should mention, when I had my Triumph Speedmaster, the forum community for that particular bike was sensationally supportive of each other. It was like an online club with virtually zero "wankers" and some really smart blokes (mainly) mechanically.
In fact I ended up traveling to the US after making many friendships and staying with one of them in Wisconsin for four weeks and riding his second bike on a rally (and other areas) where I met a dozen members. I still have those friendships and talk to several of them online quite regularly.
Anyway, you never know. Like the other forum, this one has like minded people all passionate about their GRiSO's and no doubt supportive of each other in having the best bikes possible.
cheers stacka

You'll be disappointed, this forum is made up of complete and utter wankers who all hate each other......

This is not the first forum I've been on Peter with the others predominantly respectful of it's members, so I'll make my own mind up thanks.

First, welcome from the top of Virginia.
Second, WRT luggage, I have the C-Bow system Pete mentioned mounted on my GRiSO and V7 III.
I first used the older-version soft bags (there is a new style out now); now, mostly the smaller “Orbit” hard cases. About to launch on a multi-day trip with those tomorrow.
If unfamiliar with that system on a GRiSO, here are some pix showing mounts without bags, with soft ones, and newer hard cases. Some old fat guy kept getting into the pix; ignore him.

A most appropriate phrase as it turns out, Tony

Here's some of the story of Pinko (see link below). Somewhere here there's more about the bike's history, but I can't seem to find it. Pinko was owned and christened by Mr. Roper. He purchased the bike here and rode around the States on it that summer before stowing it in Greg's garage. Pinko, rest his soul, was cursed from birth.

Welcome Stacka, You do have a pretty motorcycle. I bought a Ventura rack and bag for mine for @$500.00, perhaps$550.00 recently from Kenma Industries. It bolts on right where those four little lugs are. I put the rack on for the first time in @ 20 minutes. Easy Peasy. It will take as long to take off again.

Welcome Stacka, I just strap my luggage to the lugs under the back seat and go with that. Done 10,000kms that way in the past year. Doesn't suit some but I don't like frames and racks on when I m not touring, so I put up with easy on /off and don't take much to start with. GRiSO is great, you will love it. As someone said earlier this forum is particularly nasty and no-one has a sense of humour, although some are fond of taking the piss. Enjoy the new ride
