That last post may have sounded stupid. I realize the displacement increase doesnt always equate to a bigger motor in physical weight and dimensions (I.e. the new triumph bonneville T120) but when I sat on a Audace a few weeks ago I swear that engine was wider and bigger than the GRiSO 1200. Placebo effect? Maybe...

Wider & taller cause of the fake toaster top valve covers. Myself, I could not ride something that huge unless just for a test after service.

Well, the first map is done. I could be perfectly satisfied with it if I wasn't me. I will now go into anal mode and tweak it to within a gnat's pube of perfection.

Now that you've had the 1400 for a while and mapped it, how about a bit of a summary of how it stacks up against the 1200 (pros and cons)?

Pros:
More torque. A. Lot. More.
Smoother. Crank balance is better.
Bragging rights.

Cons:
Uses more fuel. Not really a surprise.

I would add that cracking the throttle open at speed will get you to a greater speed with extra ebullience. It's not that the 1200 lacks, it just the 1400 is more. It's hard to describe.
