| Sweet baby jeebus I love my GRiSO!It's an absolutely gorgeous spring day here in Seattle, the kind of day that keeps people living here in the great Pacific Northwest! For virtually the entire winter, my GRiSO has been resting quietly in the garage while I've been riding the Stelvio out in the shitty weather. I've become a big fan of the Stelvio for what it is. It is a pleasantly comfortable motorcycle, the big windscreen (coupled with an X-Stream spoiler) provides a silent, semi-dry bubble in the worst of conditions. It's an effortless bike to ride and just falls into every turn. The 8.5 gallon fuel tank gives great range and I don't even crave a stretch of the legs between fueling. As for pillion comfort, I don't think Moto Guzzi has a better offering. Truth be told, it's the only reason I bought the Stelvio, and Starr likes to refer to the Orange Blossom Special as "her" bike! But it is not anything like our GRiSO... I've been smiling ear to ear since 0800 this morning. I love my GRiSO! I've missed the sturdy wrestling required to carve it through the turns. I've missed the taut power band that drives that beautiful pulse from the Guzzi twin. I've missed the pure joy of perching ATOP a motorcycle that just begs you to fuck around a bit. I've missed all the smiles, thumbs up, and envious stares that invariably come my way every time I'm on it. Today was a spectacular day, a rebirth. Yup. Great tale and pix. Thanks. Miserable here recently, with "here" meaning 1400 miles r/t to bring my GRiSO home. Pix and story soon. One set of our kids moves to Edmonds in June. Daughter is SU alum, so knows area. Suspect we'll be visiting a bit for next few years. Bill | |

| Thanks Tony for hosting a pretty good ride today and loading the map which works a dream.
Also thanks to Pete for the chat, the cuppa tea and the cloud of dust that you left behind as you disappeared down the road. Does that green thing have a turbo?
Beetle, the Mistral high pipe and no DBK map worked a treat on my 2015 GRiSO which has the Arrow muffler. So smooth running now and with an improvement in fuel economy.

| There is a very good reason to use the Mistral Hi-Pipe. More time and effort has gone into the map for it than any other and it is we've found the pipe that works best for the reasons we've explained elsewhere. As I've said before my bike is probably not the fastest G8 out there but with its current set up its mid range torque is phenomenal and up to 200kph-ish it has a very high 'Bugger-off' factor, especially if you wind it out. When I was disappearing this arvo I muffed two rev-limiter gear changes so I was slower than usual. I hate that.... Pete | |

My first time back on the GRiSO as well this weekend and getting me nuts froze off! but with a big grin. The Stelvio is a great bike but the GRiSO is special, CLASS!!

| And to add insult to injury, I only got 395.5 km when the light for low fuel came on - and just as I pulled into a service (gas for you 'mericans) station. Not quite 400 km but oh so damned close. Considering the haste we used yesterday, not bad. | |

| Took the GRiSO for a bit of a run it was quite cold 6C and the roads were covered in salt. The picture is on a road called the Lang Whang. The road is known colloquially as the "Lang Whang",[2] a whang in the Scots tongue being a narrow strip of leather, usually a long leather bootlace.[3] Much of the road is over elevated, desolate moorland; it ascends several times on its course to heights over 1000 feet above sea level. Because the wind enjoys an easy and uninterrupted passage over its length, in winter the road is frequently closed by snow, even by modest snowfalls. The road passes elevated farmland and grouse moor and presents extensive views over central Scotland to the north. This view is to the south and you can see there is still snow on the hills. | "Sweet Baby Jeebus, I LOVE my GRiSO!" Sounds like a good t-shirt slogan, Steak. You forgot to mention the evening that followed that beautiful spring morning on Saturday - a nice dinner with a few friends and an awesome John Prine concert at the Paramount. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And in between that breakfast and the concert, I picked up my new GRiSO. Sweet Baby Jeebus, I LOVE IT!
