Hi all, can anybody help me, im wondering if anyone has the torque settings for the cam cover bolts on a 2007 1100? i can't see it in the service manual.. thanks for any help

You mean the valve cover? Do not torque them. A gentle 'nip' is all they need.

Thanks Beetle, when i took the covers off some were pretty tight and some were barely nipped up, 1 actually snapped the ball end of the hex key off and it wasn't a cheap brand.. lack of TLC i think.. cheers for the knowledge, your a star

I'd also suggest ditching the non reinforced kingerlite gaskets if still fitted and get a pair of the coated metal Valpolinni replacements. For some reason the later, post V11, rocker covers cause the earlier gaskets to fail, especially if over tightened. It's weird because their shape is identical to the earlier bikes but they won't seal properly.

Cheers Pete, they look like the mutts, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anybody in the uk selling them that i can find via the internet, i have mailed my nearest dealer but my breath is not being held, still you never know..

10Nm. It's in the table if you look carefully. Has been the same value since 1967. Many ignore it. Success rates of keeping the oil contained are not strongly related to the choice of whether to follow the book, I believe.
