| Ok, that's what mines doing. The only reason I'm asking is that I never really look at it. Also I had a flat battery the other day, chucked the charger on and als good.

| If it's dropped to 8V it isn't charging. Check the belt. If it ain't that it might be the alternator, probably the reg-rec.

| With a new Alternator it is showing 14.0 and sometimes 14.1, with the old one the most it would show was 12.5 | |

| My pissy little 980g Lithium lights up at 13.2v when I turn the key on (before starting). Idle will be around 13.8v unless I hold the brake on and it drops a little. Riding can be as high as 14.6v.
Due to its inbuilt resistance, with a new Lithium battery the charging system would run at 14.8 or 14.9 constantly, but the more you start it the more the resistance breaks down, so alternator is not fighting to push charge back into it. |

| Mine is usually 14.2 while riding. I have been having issues with it holding a charge though...Rode it yesterday all day. Went to bet, woke up today to go for a ride and nothing? Put it on the trickle charger for 20 minutes and it started right up? What gives? I checked all the fuses and terminals and everything checks out...could it just be an old battery? It is a 2013 model which I bought this year but even so that seems a little odd to me and it should hold enough charge after just sitting for 12 hours or so. | |

If the bike is a 2013 and you bought it new just recently, it's been sitting on dealer floors or in warehouses for three plus years. Dealers are notorious for letting batteries go flat and not recharging them. If a lead-acid battery is left in a discharged state for more than just a couple of weeks, that battery is toast. It will never properly recover. Fast self-discharge - going flat overnight like you describe - is a symptom of a battery that's a goner. Replace it before it strands you. | |
