| Hi all, my name is Matt and I am living on the second largest Island in the US. Its located in WA state and has a Naval Air Station at the north end and the world famous Penn Cove (the best mussels) in the middle. I'm at the slower paced south end and make my living as an electrical contractor and also own a storage facility. I enjoy doing restorations and creating custom bikes in my spare time and own 6 other motorcycles including another Guzzi. My wife has her own Ninja and doesn't seem to mind when another rusty heap comes through the door. I became a GRiSO owner sort of by accident. In 2009 I was down at MOTO INTERNATIONAL in Seattle getting some parts for a V65 that I was putting together when I happened to see a 2006 GRiSO on the sales floor. I had never heard of the model before but was instantly struck by the looks of it. The bike was brand new and marked down to $7900 so I decided to take it for a spin around the block. I came back with a big smile on my face and bought it on the spot. The only thing that I have done to it was remove the exhaust (maybe someday I will learn to love it) and put on a Mistral. As I am sure the rest of you know I get comments on this bike every time I take it somewhere, lots of time from non riders that have never even heard of Moto Guzzi. | Welcome, Matt. Is that second picture from the Oyster Run in Anacortes? Used to go to that once in a while, but found there to be too many knuckleheads, and I'm not talking about vintage Harleys. This weekend is the Moto Guzzi NW Deep Forest Camp Out, come join us and meet a bunch of local Guzzisti. Check the calendar section of the link below for details. Specifically the North Island, Mark - there are also some that live on the South Island. Be Ye Not Confused, I am not talking about Un Zed (New Zealand for those that don't know). From recollection, they stole the whole north/south island thing from us aussies some time back. They are actually on the east islands from the mainland (north island). If you know what I am talking about, good! For those that don't understand, come visit and ride and we will explain over many beers. | |
