Hi GRiSO'wners
I've installed the Corbin seat which effectively renders me a solo rider (although I never intended to carry a passenger). I have pondering the possible removal of the pillion pegs and the associated bracketing. Since the exhaust uses the pillion peg bracket as a support, it would entail installing an alternative bracket, preferably something ultra light like carbon fibre.
What do you reckon? Possible? Or is it simply a beer induced delusion?

Remember, that muffler weighs a metric shit ton. I'd be careful about jeopardizing the strength of that mount. Even the slightest bit of movement at that mounting point will wreak havoc on the already suspect midsection of the exhaust system.
I'm sure that it can be done, but keep it sturdy.

He's got a Termi which weighs a lot less but your point is still valid.

I realize the Termi is heavy (as well as the stock horror), so I'm not about to use a piece if gal strapping as a solution. I'm not wearing red suspenders.
I'm not even sure how much weight I'll save, or whether it's even worth bothering?
Anyhoo, just an idea.

get one of the std brackets, and just grind off the peg mt. and repaint. I have seen that on another GRiSO on a euro site, suppose I could add to the list of parts that need to be cncd.

Thanks Uzidzit, I had considered that, and it's probably the easiest solution.

Uzidzit,
Put me down for one of the pipe hangers if they become available.
Thanks,

I'm 'watching' them, but it would cost more to ship to Oz than the purchase price!

I got a rear shock from that bike. The pictured hangers are currently in my recycle barrel if anyone wants them. I got them for the footpeg hardware.

I got jiggy with the angle grinder, rasp, files and wet & dry.
It's now with the powder coaters. Should have it on Tuesday.

I shouldn't complain, they only charged me $10, but I'm not happy. It was supposed to be satin black, but it's quite glossy, and the coat is uneven. I'll have to get it re-done.

Bummer... I feel your frustration as that's not what I'd expect either.
With a piece that small, just rattle can that sucker with a satin black. It's not a surface that needs any extra durability anyway.
