Subject: Pillion on a GRiSO?? Wed Jul 22, 2020 10:23 am
I have been stalking GRiSO s since 2013 My wife has now decided she likes the look as well - but it wont work for me (us) unless we can do two up tours - only about 300ml per day but maybe for several days at a time.
Does it work as a pillion bike and what needs to be changed?

300 miles per day is not going to be hard work on any bike. You can break it up into several shorter trips, with rest time in between.
After all, what are you going to do for the rest of the day?

Ha true but some of my bikes have had 100% bad pillion reviews from my nearest and dearest. e.g. Triumph 1050 speed triple Superduke 990

Go ahead and buy the GRiSO. But also buy an old Honda PC800 for trips. The "PC" stands for "passenger comfort".

Jude sat on the back of my GRiSO.......... Once.....
Really, it's a torture rack for a pillion. I suppose if you're young and whippy it might be OK but really, pillion comfort isn't its strong suit.

I had my seat re upholstered with an extra 1.5 inches of foam in the pillion part. Works well.

Lots of them around at the moment on Ebay & car&classic etc - for 8V rollerisation you'll have to deep-dive & pull cam covers (replacement tappet paperwork doesn't often say rollers vs new flats).

If you are at looking at the top end of the market then my 2016 SE Rosso Trophy could be available. She’s done 4000 miles (embarrassing lack of use), has a Guzzi bug screen, Zard exhaust, sintered brakes and Krauser luggage (not fitted). Registered September 2016 making it one of the last GRiSO’s registered in the UK. Bike is as new, with full service history and original exhaust.

Don't ever let her sit on a goldwing. You will never get her on another bike if you do.
If both of you are on the short side, touring on a GRiSO should be fine. You may want a new seat for a better fit for a passenger.

Need to get the wife on the back of one for a test-ride and then see if dropped pegs or remodelled seat will do the business. But thanks for all of the input
