| I am going to break the bead and install an angled air valve in the rear wheel of the beloved GRiSO, the season is over and garage time is available. Does anyone know the valve hole diameter? I know 11,3 mm is common but I understand that there are other standards as well.

| The stem diameter for the Alpina wheels is the 8.3 mm version, but they won't work on our rear wheels. The spokes are closer together on the rear that on the front, which is why the rear uses a vertical stem. The spoke wells are too close to accommodate the base width of the angled valve steams like those from Ariete. There is no room for the stem to seat and seal against the rim.
Unless you can source one with a narrower base, you are stuck with the straight valve stem in the rear. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2012 MOTO GUZZI GRiSO 1200SE2013 MOTO GUZZI STELVIO 1200NTX - Orange Blossom Special | |

| I just carry the screw on type, incase I need to top up with air. But don't leave them on as they are just a way to get air in. | |

| Ralph, I have seen the screw on type and maybe that is the way to go. I will do some further roaming on the web and see if there is an alternative to the Arete valve. /Ron | |

| Do you think they are slim enough to fit a GRiSO spoked rear wheel?

| They look to be similar spec to the Ariete version, but who knows. He lists the SE years (2012-15) as compatible, but who knows. They do look very nice.

| Those might work actually... As it is, I get to the valve by the exhaust side. Lot easier without the rotor in the way. | |

| Ron, Keep us posted, there are about 80 people who will jump all over these if they work correctly. | |

| Fortunately my 1100 had angled stems when I got the bike. Unfortunately I do not know the answers to the tech specifics you are asking.

| Sure will, but it will probably take 3 to 4 weeks depending on when the valve arrives...

| Sad ending,
I ordered the 8,3 mm Strada valve from Misano Moto...... They sent the wrong diameter valves and after e-mail conversations trying to get the correct size valves and then waiting for a long time I give up. They were going to send new valves......They never did!!?!
