rear brake light - can I disconnect

Ok, my brake light seems to stick on for about a week every time my bike gets rained on. If I get down there and spray the switch it with WD-40 and jiggle it for about 20 minutes it usually goes back to normal but I can't be sure as obviously I can't see it while I'm riding.

I'm using my GRiSO as daily transport all summer and I don't have time to be doing this every week

So, any ideas on how to prevent this re-occuring?

or -is there a simple way to remove the foot brake light switch from the loop? I'd be much safer riding with a brake light that only operates from the front brake than one that is intermittently staying on. Not MOT checks in France so don't have to worry about passing any tests.

It'll be the switch playing up. They're actually usually pretty reliable. I'm sure I've got several hanging around. I'll post you one if you make a donation to MSF.

The connector is under the seat next to the airbox on the right hand side.
