| The '06 11K has split rubber, too much throttle Does anyone know of a replacement for these rubbers which protect the adjusting nuts? Perhaps there is something from another maker available. I can find only a part number for the complete cable assembly. Items #16 and #17 being the complete cable assembly. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here's the rubber. | As a bloke who suffers from PMT (preventative maintenance tension) I've had a decent trawl, but don't know enough different bikes to find a solution. Scratch the following: Burn My Wallet Airheads and GS Oilheads, Ducati any model pre 1985.
Japanese bikes perhaps?
Next question... is that rubber accessible, guessing from the throttle body end. It's all pretty bulky on the throttle drum end.

| Mate, they look identical to the throttle cable rubbers on a Honda CT110 Postie bike. Therefore they would be standard across the Honda range. Therefore MCS and other aftermarket parts specialists would copy them.
Therefore, ............................................ I'm wondering if we got onto the Asian manufacturer for MCS, we might be able to buy a box of 50.
I know Robby Walker, top guy, insider in MCS.
First, determine if a Honda part is identical to what you want .............................. then ask.

A picture or part number perhaps? The type for the PHF and PFM that I'm familiar with have a short rubber.

| Even the #8222 is not quite there. The original boot is a clever design, the material though not lasting as long as the cable. The Dellorto is usually located to assist in protection only from the top. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Ideally,in GRiSO application, the sealing requirement is for both ends. Happy for you to come and fit them, kind of you to offer. | |

| ghezzi, Wayne, Found an image on ebay, for the CT110 cable. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Shape looks pretty close. No idea about dimensions though. This cable is used, so likely genuine. Did not that other sellers on ebay have a new replacement cable with different boot, which doesn't look like the GRiSO style. Certainly this is a step in the right direction. Anyone here have a CT110 Postie Bike, or have access to one to check? I live out of town, don't have a postie here. BUT, can check with the Honda dealer tomorrow if the boot is available. Thanks Wayne, most helpful. | |

| Bellagio cable boot is 54mm long, total length of adjuster is only about 40mm. Chances are Guzzi cables are from same supplier to Honda.
Will try and catch up with Rob this week. |

| Mine were just as bad on my 09 but the bike was totaled before I got around that issue... I'd go around Jap bike dealers and see what they got. I'm sure something will work... | |

Bit expensive.
All the best Pete Extra bickie for you with your tea Pete. That's as close as f^*k is to swearing. The price is for a pack of 20 (if I've read the description correctly), seems reasonable enough to me.

| In the description of the part above the image Pete. Reads... Pack size per 20. I've tried to take a screenshot. Excuse me for being computer illiterate. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Initially I've PMed Slo_Mo_Shun Pete (who found them) in the UK to ask if he might be the recipient of a pack. If they're the business, keep a couple and then post on to Oz, with me paying the 5 quid postage.
Pete Roper, I spoke with a short time ago, is going to order some as well.
Happy to send you a couple Wayne if they prove to be the answer.
I visited the Honda dealer in town today and the parts bloke kindly looked at all CT110s and a few others with the result that Honda sell only the complete cable. Looks like this current caper in the UK is our best lead and option thus far.

| Right have PM'd GrissoRosso (Richo). I have ordered a pack and will send them on to Australia after confirming fit etc. Will post details and pics here as soon as I get them.
I didnt realize the price was for 20, not anywhere near as bad as I thought.
Richo, dont buy yourself, I am happy to send a packet to Australia, the Australians on here do enough for me (Beetles maps, Petes advice etc.) We can work something out if more than one pack is required.
All the best Pete | |

| Thanks Pete, that's mighty kind. Provided these puppies fit, they should also work for other "familigia" bikes. I'll send a PM shortly. Thanks again.

| I've ordered a couple of bags of these to keep in stock as they look like the sort of thing that might come and go in terms of availability. I wonder what we can use to protect 'em from the UV? Sunscreen for motorbike parts! Now yer talkin'! Pete | |

Pete, when you get stock, I'll take 2 4 off your hands. Sunscreen, just the slap on these ones as the hat will just blow right off

| .303 Not the gun. Its a protective/rejuvenating product, better than Armour All. Dirt bikers been using it for years, makes all those faded plastic bits look new again. |
