Best time to visit Mandello del Lario?

Planning a trip to Italy next year and would like to know your opinion on the best time to go and see the museum etc maybe rent a bike and take a ride etc. would like to avoid the bigger crowds of the annual party and of course don’t want to go when the museum is closed annually. I’ve read that the first “2 or 3 weeks” of August people are on holiday in Italy too.

Mid to late September..imo..less people (as in tourist Families) , decent weather ( not too Hot, not too cold) , and the country is back at work from August off.

Spring or Autumn (Fall). Not too hot, less tourists.

Yes, it’s easy for us Americans to think everyone has air conditioning….

was once in Meran during the period, even the cinema had closed ..

regarding temperatures: i would go before mid of july or then after ferragosto.
it can be pretty hot in leather when you stick in traffic jam around the lake

Agree with Pawel. July and August can be terribly hot in slow trafic and black leather, and it is the periode when much of Europe have their holidays.
April - June or September is my recommendation, although you might risk snow on the passes in April and end of September.

In September you have also the GMG. Giornate Mondiali della Guzzi. Worldwide Guzzi Days.

Certainly an event to be seen and participate.
