Brake Spring Help Empty
PostSubject: Brake Spring Help   Brake Spring Help Icon_minitime1Thu Sep 01, 2022 1:19 pm

07' GRiSO 1100 Rear Brake Caliper.

I removed caliper to inspect and replace pads and as I was pulling the pin out, a metal spring hit the floor. I never saw it initially and I don't know where or how it goes. It has an arrow on it as well. Exploded diagrams shows the spring outside the caliper area, which is no help.

I have no idea how to install it. 🙃
Any ideas?

Thanks.

It goes between the pads and the caliper to stop the pads 'flapping about'
The arrow is usually the direction of wheel rotation

Does anyone have a photo of it in place? I get what your saying Jon, but I don't know where I'm supposed to place it.

When you rotate the pads out of the caliper on the pin you put the spring plate over the end of the pad and rotate the pads back and latch them into place.

The spring exerts a small downward pressure on the pads so they don't rattle when not under pressure.
